Screenshots sent to support. Its all you can do on your end without getting yourself into trouble. Prior poster is right. The threats are empty and you shouldn't even bother really replying. Back in the days of bbs systems with all local gamers I would tell people where to meet me to resolve our differences outside the game... Nobody ever showed up.. 20 some odd years later and less testosterone and I understand how stupid that was... But yeah empty threats, nobody ever shows, just send screen shots to support.

This guy is awesome! BBS systems were IT at that time. Space empire elite was THE game. I met a guy that trolled my account for a year(crashed an aspect of the game into me each day etc..). He was at a meet and greet for another BBS and casually said his in game name. When I told him who I was he got uncomfortable. I laughed it off but a few minutes later I glanced at him and he was just looking like he had to go to the bathroom. Not that I was threatening in my manners or such. I could just see he took it in way different than I expected. Some people are gutless. This is a way to feel strong and empowered. The place you work at are made up of people too... (duh sorry). but they would understand. They all have had psycho girlfriends etc. YOU need to toughen up brochacho. Ever try the paltalk insult rooms? That will teach you how sit these types down real quick.

thanks guys, This is not how I planned on joining the forum :)  I was hoping to get good enough that I would post intelligently about the game.  On another forum I have been a member for a few decades I have seen some epic meltdowns.  I just got concerned, well mainly, I just do not know that much about Wargamming and WoT's and how the client etc. works.  I hope he cannot get access to my info, and from just a brief look into it I have not been able to find anything that would suggest he was doing anything other than bluffing.

I was able to screenshot the conversation, thank you for the assistance, and I was able to save it for posterity :) I will be more careful using in-game chat, and just ignore the toxic comments.  thanks guys for the discussion, it is appreciated.

Dude, literally, no one cares if you actually believe some insignificant, hasn't even hit puberty yet, welp.  Put your big boy pants on, block and move on.

You're not allowed to think that way, haven't you read the thread?

That's cute.

The guy who made the comment was relying on an unsubstantiated dramatic claim to "win" the argument. I rejected it out of hand because that's insipid.

Anyone "could" say anything they want.

Nothing about my initial response on page 1 was "trash." Maybe to a bunch of 14-25 year olds the advice to simply ignore internet spazzes with empty threats isn't "fun" enough, but then many of you haven't been raised right. Zero cares given what you think about that assessment. It's easier to ignore and block someone and move on. OP should know by now, but he does not. A rant thread about it is asinine.

No, your an irresponsible DB.  Proly very comfortable with it as your smug posting indicates.

There is a line, once crossed action should be taken.  Your just too scared to take that action so you try to insult others that will.  Makes me suspect you are from the very shallow end of the gene pool.

I suppose it is ok for somebody to hold a gun to your head, as long as they don't pull the trigger?

So my philosophy of ignoring spazzes who spam other players with dopey "threats" is "irresponsible?" lol.

Ok.

The irony is too much, that clan name.  I am just sure that karma is rubbing its hands and smiling watching you....

Short you really need to get over yourself. This position you take that you're somehow more concerned with the wellbeing of others than other folks are is laughable, because it's affected.

Untrue, you acted like a world class a$$.

At least your good at something, now you can tell everyone that you matter.

You could print these all up and show mammy that people really talked to you.

Jealous because your incapable of being concerned about the well being of anyone other than yourself?  Reread your own posts before you answer.

My god how pretentious and fake you are. Done responding to it. Make of it what you will, it's meaningless.

Yesterday I was playing a match and it wasn't going well.  He was griping about the team not watching the flank, I was over there with him so I wasn't even one of the ones he was complaining about.

But he kept going on and on about how we were all losers in life and it got pretty explicit, so I said a few comments about it being just a game and it has no real connection to our real lives.  I also called him an a-hole.  We were both swarmed, and shut down.  Ironically, the team came back from the city and we won the match.

Then I get back to my garage and a PM is waiting on me.  He really goes off, threatens me, my career, he is going to find me and publicly shame me and all sorts of stuff.  Says he and his pals have or are writing 'code' that will givel them my IP address and he will use that to steal my identity and continue this to oblivion. My response is short, no name calling or anything,  to me this is very serious. I messaged back that this type of threat is assault and is a criminal act.

He messaged me back but by then I clicked blacklist and it went away so I dont know what his response was.  Nor do I know how to report the behavior to WG.  I am new here, and I am a strawberry or tomato or whatever (thank you for that XVM, very helpful to everyone) and I have met some really nice folks.  But dang, when you start dropping threats to people it gets a bit scary. and with the swatting death in the news, it starts to get serious.

So I am done.  I will not engage in chat outside of gameplay.  I always appreciate when I get a "fallback!!" as it makes me a better player.   I hope to play the game, and continue to have fun.  As a new player I have found the complexity of it, the various tanks to be really fun (I am a CoD crossover, and I havent even played the game since a few days after its release.) But why do some hate it so much, yet still play?  Anyway, I hope the guy was just being mouthy, and it ends there. but frick me it has me concerned.

Sorry to hear someone went off on you like that.

You should have taken screen shots and submitted a ticket.

The majority of us are decent despite losing it a few times here and there. What tis guy wrote is over the top. Funny but scary, I get it.

Keep playing. Get better. See you on the battlefield.

You need to buy a mirror.  Even you can figure out how to use it, instructions are printed on the front.

I don't say this very often, but for you

HAVE A $HITTY DAY!

While the vast majority of tank rage cases are empty threats, there have been some cases that have resulted in a loss of life ie swatting case recently on the news. I recommend submitting a report to wargaming. No one, not even the tomatos that drive straightaway into the ponds at the beginning of a battle, deserve to receive death threats.

That was CoD, not WoT.  That was also not a RL threat, but an intentional swatting... the guy being "swatted" gave a false address, thus resulting in someone with no clue of what was even going on.. getting slain.

Simple....don't reach for your waist when you have a bunch of cops and a swat team aiming at you even if you have no idea what's going on??? Novel concept I know....
