If you are a fan of Alternative / Progressive / Art Rock keep reading.

Once upon a time, a long time ago....

I was a Rock Star.

But, I outgrew it, and also never made it big.

Recently I got a copy of a VHS recording of my band at Earthday 1992 in London England.

Fortunately it has the only existing copies of some of the music I made.

Unfortunately, it is in dire shape (lots of warping/sour notes).

There is a lot of different styles on the recording, but I'm going to start off with something kinda mainstream...

Anyway, here is one of the tracks. If there is interest, I'll keep posting stuff.

If not, I'll let the thread die.

I was a "Wanna-Be" Rock star. My band members either died of an overdose, ran away to Canada, went to the Vietnam War and never returned., even if they did, they weren't the same. So be it.....maybe my song legacy is:

Were you the guitarist in that back with the stars on the guitar, by chance?  Music sounded pretty good actually.  Myself and 4 others cut a demo many years ago, for Nashville but it never went any where.

I wish. That's Malcolm who is making a living off of his music.

On that track I'm the bassist/singer in the cut-off black tee.

In this one - rhythm guitar / vocals:

So True. The closest I ever came to playing in a famous band was actually performing with them in concert.

Cool song. Chords are D, A, Bm, G. Sounds like anyhow.

I've only ever played at parties and telethons. Never any big crowds. Still play to this day.

I hope you keep playing or start back up. Music is great for relaxing.

Interesting stuff. Always nice to hear/see other music and stories about music.

My biggest thrill was playing a song I wrote in front of the Hell's Angels at the Para-Dice Riders' clubhouse in Caesarea, Ontario, when they met to discuss merging back in the late '90s. I also played some Rolling Stones and other stuff that night, but playing my own tune was kind of the "moment" for me. Now I'm just making guitars and producing music, but starting a project that involves Eddie Kramer.

Here are two tracks I produced for a band featuring my brother (the real musical genius in the family) a few years back:

Cool...I'm likin' the bass playing, shades of Chris Squire. But the overall sound is kind of U2ish with that type of rhythm guitar part. Good gig.

My musical influences include: Loverboy, Skiny Puppy, Genesis (w/Peter Gabriel), Faith No More, Ziggy Stardust, Yes, Dead Milkmen, Night Ranger, and the Smiths.

I was a Progressive/Glam Punk Rocker who happened to hook up with real musicians.
