Been awhile since I updated WoT. When I launch WoT (not using the new GC thing) it says "The data obtained from the update service is incorrect."
I've tried running the repair tool, but since the repair tool also needs to connect to the update service, that also fails with the same message.

World of Warships updated just fine (also not using the GC). A friend of mine was also able to update WoT fine without the GC.

I haven't tried a clean install yet but I'd rather avoid that if I can since my internet speed isn't super great.

Any ideas?

Try, Windows start button, type in %appdata%, select roaming, select Wargaming.net, select and delete the WoT folder.

No, I’ve run into this but I’m blanking on the fix.  I posted it in response to someone a while back, but don’t have time to search right now.  Sorry.  It was some log file I killed if memory serves.  Then it worked

Rebooting didn't work, checked the firewall and made sure to allow it through (even tried turning the firewall off completely). Still no dice. Rip me

Sorry, haven’t had time to look, but it was one of the files in the main WOT folder on the hard drive that I had to simply delete and the game made a new one and then it was fine.  I don’t recall even why I stumbled onto it, but it worked.  Very busy at work, so no time

to go find my previous answer.  Sorry.

sounds like the mods folder under res_mods, if im correct i think you just need to go to c/wot/res-mods and delete whatever is in there and the game should make a new folder when you open the game? i could be wrong so dont trust this info till its verified i guess, wouldn't want you to have to reinstall because of a folder deleted.

Yeah, no luck either.  Guess I'm playing War Thunder.  GG WG, keep driving those coffin nails in, one at a time.
