• Penetration is about average because its more or less tier 8 TD pen. This works for a lot of tanks but if you come across anything resembling an armored target or a superheavy when they're hull down or at ranges further than 250m well the accuracy isn't good enough to reliably hit weakpoints.

• Damage for this thing well it hardly ever high rolls and its RoF means that a lot of tanks will shoot for twice the damage you can dish out.

• Accuracy on paper its supposedly good but I've had it miss so many unbelievable shots that I just don't trust that accuracy value.

• Mobility is lackluster because it turns like crap and while its got a good top speed it takes ages for it to get there. This is very ironic considering this thing is using what is essentially a T54 hull and engine.

• Armor is nonexistent I mean this thing back in the day it probably had decent armor before they added so many big guns, autoloaders, derp cannons and the new MM which more or less promotes the use of gold shells. The ONLY time I ever bounce shells is potentially from 75mm guns aiming up at me or they magically hit the gun mantlet.

I'm doing fairly well with the SU-122-54 but it's the worst tier 9 TD I've ever played. Mind you I've played them all except for the tier 9 Chinese one as thats the last TD I have left in the game to finish.

its far from the best...

Why bother having armor there it's a TD your not supposed to be bouncing anything in it anyways I've fired twice before many tanks before it and I have no problem with the turning  I do agree with the accuracy not sure why it misses more than hits yet the 704 I've noticed hits every shot.

I understand its playstyle as a hit n run and bush sniper but I mentioned the armor because I think at the very least the upper frontal plate should be thicker.

Perhaps. though if you compare the 704 with it the122 54 is superior with the exception of pen damage and survivability and maybe a few others

Can't really compare them because they're different beasts entirely since the 704 is a high alpha derp cannon with the capacity to take some hits while the 122 is more of a DPM(use that term loosely) bush sniper/hit n run tank.

Well I was meaning if you compare them in game using the comparison . Speaking of which I'm gonna need a new tier 9 tank that was actually in service since I'm losing my first tier 9

Well tier 9 has quite a few vehicles that saw service though very few have seen action.

Cent 7/1, T54, T10(aka IS8), M46 Patton, M53/55, FV3805, AMX 13 90, AMX 30, Strv, Type 61.

Now while not technically entering service the T95 was sent to Korea during the Korean war but saw no action so I kind of consider that as being a service vehicle...somewhat.

Crap I completely forgot about the jagdtiger being a service vehicle lol

You'll enjoy the Jagdtiger far more than the 704 but thats a bit of bias on my part because I found the 704 to be a bit boring for my taste while I absolutely loved the Jagdtiger..

Get the Type 61 this weekend, its far more of a painful stock grind than the Jag is.

It's either the type 61 or the conqueror

Up to you I mean the Type 61 grind is annoying because its such a large profile so its harder to trade effectively when grinding for that top gun. The Conq on the other hand used to be one of the worst tier 9 stock grinds but now its using a 32lber instead of a 20lber and the Conq turret instead of the Caern turret for the stock configuration.

Probably the type 61 get the worse grind out of the way

Well if you can buy them both just switch between them because with all the combat xp multpliers going you could knock out a fair portion of their stock grinds easily.

Oh...scratch what I said earlier then you should probably get the Conq because it does lead to the better tier 10 imo.

The STB-1 when it went HD got its turret armor nerfed...WG has basically no love for this tank.

best of luck with your grinding

If you want to try out the STB1 you can play it on the test server which starts Jan 22nd to decide if you still want to pursue the grind for it. Just remember test server is nothing but gold spam.
