SBMM is, essentially, communism. It's an attempt at equality of outcome, and as such it should be avoided. The only proponents of SBMM are people who know they can't really compete in a free and open system, and therefore demand that WG forcefully removes wins from successful players and distributes them among people who really haven't earned them.

The best system would be a matchmaker where two teams are put together with equivalent tanks, and that's it. Sometimes you'd get unbalanced teams, but over time things would all balance out. The game should be put together fairly, then the result should be decided by the players (equality of opportunity).

In virtually every sport there are rankings which ensure that participants are equally matched thereby enhancing the enjoyment of all.

Are you advocating that ALL golfers be given the same selection of clubs and letting them compete in a free for all? :)

So, when you're on the other team it's fair?

Also... ONE MATCH. Do your best and move on.

x.

Typical tomato post.  Blames the MM for his loss instead of accepting the fact that he is part of the problem.  Put your big boy pants on and learn to carry instead of always relying on the good players to carry you.

and stop using XVM.  It's clearly not helping you.

I said what I said, and I stand by it. Those who call for skill based matchmaking want all the benefits of being a good player without having to actually put in the work to get to that level.

Except that you picked a personal, SINGLE, game as some sort of evidence of the game itself treating YOU unfairly. So you did make it about yourself, you, the awful tier 8 player with awful platoon mates. For 10k battles, unbelievable amount of hours playing... this game was trying to tell you "hey if you actually learn to play well we give you these extra rewards so you can get that new shiny tank you always wanted" but you said "nah f that, i keep pressing this battle button enough times you'll let me fail up to it"

What i personally find hilarious is, bad players like you already get blessed by the current MM system. This game ensures that you will be randomly selected to be on teams capable of carrying you to wins you had no business getting. Roughly 40% of your games this mm just gives you wins, and yet you want it to be even easier... yeah totally makes sense. If there wasn't a random MM and you won and loss purely based on performance, i don't know if you'd win 10% of your games. Bad players should be on their knees thanking wg.

There you go again!.... :)

Counter point...
Are you advocating that every player use the same tank with the same components and same crews?

Even when I have a team of all good players..... They all get slaughtered by tomatoes..... Then when i'm on a team full of tomatoes we all get slaughtered by good players..... Some players just have bad games.... Total wipe outs will always be a thing.

This right here is extremely stupid. A lot of very SUCCESSFUL(unlike WOT) games out there have skilled based MM, and WG wouldn't even have to make it as detailed and skilled based as those successful games do, all they would have to do is make sure there isn't a major gap in skill on the two teams which they could do with PR.

The title of this thread is ironic. The game currently treats everyone the same so it is currently fair but the OP wants the mm to be unfair to those who are over a certain skill level? Ironic or moronic, take your pick. The current mm is fair because it treats us all the same. The OP wants a "rigged" system to give him easier matches so by that very definition, would be unfair.

This is actually true. If the matches were 1v1 or 3v3 or something with smaller teams, then some players would never advance up the tiers.

I have to agree with the OP. Skill or even experienced based would be better than just tank. We know the MM tracks your Win Rate and if you're above 52% then welcome to hell. You get the pleasure of ending up for as many suicide/goon squad teams until it drops below.

Not that WG remotely care a what we think btw

What you me "we" kemosabe???

You are making bold assumptions of fact and ascribing that as common knowledge.  I am of the camp that WG is generally incompetent and that pulling off a real time data driven hanky-panky covering tens of millions of real time team placements daily across all the servers along with all of the other MM calculations is beyond their skills since they cannot even get a X5 to start on they day that they said it would.  The other option is that they do absolutely nothing to mess with the MM in regards to WR and let randomness do it's thing literally guaranteeing random matches.

One option requires a massive investment in money, manpower, and maintenance that carries substantial risk of being revealed to the customer base, which would damage the brand.  The other involves doing and investing literally nothing.   Occam's razor is a thing as is Dunning Kruger.

If you are using the OPs picture as some sort of proof, be advised that it shows the exact opposite of what you say it does because it has grouped the higher win rate players together making it more likely that they win.
