Now instead of "great, this crap map" it'll be "what a great looking crap map".

I love Nebelberg.  It's Klondike I'm not crazy about.

I'm not sure what you were expecting to hear. Yes, it is pretty. Yes, the whole concept of the HD maps is a mind-boggling amount of eye candy, and when version 1.0 goes live it'll generate a massive amount of publicity, and most of that publicity will be positive. But from the existing players' perspective, this is all laughably irrelevant. At no point were we worried that the maps weren't meeting aesthetic standards. And as of the game's popularity, in the end of the day the queue times remain consistently fast 24/7 even on the NA server.

My assessment of the overall situation is that all of the eye candy and resulting publicity must come packaged with comprehensive mechanics changes or else the whole re-branding effort will only be a short-term 'flash in the pan'. Perhaps even another 'Rubicon'. WoT is not a user-friendly game unless you adopt a set of very counterintuitive habits, and none of these are explained in the client itself. And even if a player does ever get a firm grasp of the fundamentals and also invests the time/resources/effort to assemble a respectable garage, loadouts, and crews, the game is still horrendously unreliable. By that I mean any given play session can easily turn into an unmitigated disaster. Some matches will actually leave you further away from your goals than when you started. No other multiplayer game I've ever played in my life has ever made me regret pressing the battle button. WoT has that one distinction to call its own. Yet I'm still here because I still think WoT has potential. For the love of all things holy, tell the boys in Minsk to get their crap together. They won't get another chance like this.

no matter what people say, wg isn't going to stop putting out the HD maps. they've already worked on them, so no use complaining. Besides, they are really nice. I don't understand why you would complain.

How about some new none grand battles maps? or increase tier access to grand battles.

There are other things more critical to existing players than pretty maps. I, for one, don’t care at all about HD maps. I want new maps that are enjoyable to play for all classes.

From poet John Lydgate, later adapted by President Lincoln – and appearing in various permutations:

You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.

because they're over saturated garbage that hurts the eyes?  honestly, they look like some stay at home mom just found about about filters in CS so she's trying to jazz up her instagram portfolio with her brand new fancy $300 digicam to make side money as a "professional" photographer
