Hey everyone! Over the past few days since the RIP WGL announcement, the community has shown a ton of interest in making another unofficial league. To gather everyone interested and agree on a few things, we'll be holding a meeting.

  • WHAT: Unofficial League Meeting!
  • WHEN: Saturday, February 3rd, at 7 PM Eastern.
  • WHERE: The Teamspeak3 address here: ts.youjonico.moe (changed from Kanto ts)
  • WHY: To discuss the way the upcoming community-run unofficial league will work.
  • WHO: Anyone interested in playing or contributing in the league.

Meeting Agenda:

  1. Discuss details of the league like the name, admins, etc.
  2. Discuss game rules, like format, map rotation, battle time, etc.
  3. Discuss dates for the league.
  4. Open discussion.

Hopefully by discussing these details among the community we can decide on how we will get this league working and competitive, and make it enjoyable and worthwhile for the players to take part. If you would like to keep up to date with information before it's on the forums, join our Discord server. https://discord.gg/BtVBn6c

Thank you, and I'll see you Saturday!

I'll show up, gonna throw a few ideas around that I've been thinking.

Just to start the discussion a little bit though, thoughts about making it a ladder? Where teams can place higher or lower and in different leagues within the tournament, just have to get someone dedicated to organizing it all.

What's this? Isn't there some eSports league that the good players participate in? I really liked watching it last year...

Thats really similar to a swiss bracket, which is fun to do but only if we have enough teams. I think 10+ is what works best for it.

If we get enough teams would you be open to the idea?

^ Streams used to get their own post on matchdays, the same will probably happen for this season.

If anyone is interested in casting try to show up to a meeting!

I would encourage you guys to do this.  Back in the day, gamers didnt need anything official from game distributors.  They organized rules and teams and matches.  There were no real rewards other than bragging rights (e.g. Kali.net)

GL guys!
