Matchmaking Improvements

9.22’S update will improve the matchmaker to allow tankers to encounter different Battle Modes (in your preferred list) more often.

Hey Guys,

After some back and forth it looks like this phrasing was an unfortunate translation misunderstanding that slipped through.  The intent of the statement is to say that the mode preference enabled by this change will drop at 50 seconds, at which point you will be placed into the first available match for game modes that you have not de-selected.  So, you should not be seeing any Encounter Battles if you have them disabled, or Grand Battles if you have them disabled, no matter how long you are in queue.  Our apologies for the miscommunication.

DING DING DING someone else gets it. Wait pretty much everyone is saying that nothing was actually changed. Hell, QUE times are longer now than they were before the supposed change, while still being rigged to 1 team winning with both tank comp and player skill.

id bet money all these ppl saying "que times are soooo long now!!!" are the same ones that wanted +1/-1MM when we all told them it would make que times a lot longer xD

Id still like to see +1/-1 MM but im not complaining about que times, I see no real difference atm

Anyone else feel like this is another instance of WG HQ trying to fix problems that don't actually exist? 

I don't recall many people (if anyone really) complaining about que times or not playing enough assault/defense matches.

 

Yeah...nope...no threads complaining about que times or lack of assault matches in the first 3 pages of our forums.  Must be something that needs to be "fixed."

So these changes mean what? Not a damn thing! Games are still blow outs, even more now than before. Did the mensa members at WG stop and think that the wait times may be getting longer because people are tired of the BS and just up and quit the game? You people at WG dance around the subject constantly, but never address the real issues. WHY? Why can you not at least try one time to balance the skill level of the teams? Have you ever tried it? Have you ever even entertained the thought of trying this? Please tell me now, so I can have a good reason to tell WG to piss off and quit.

I'd have no problems with longer que times for good balanced teams that actually take skill to win and not complete blow outs.

MM in WoT just plain flat out sucks IMO.  My advice?  Trash everything you've done and ask the guys over at WOWS how to do it, the blatant favoritism in WOT MM is making the game not worth playing to be honest.  Fact is, you've fixed nothing that benefits anyone but the top players.  1 match in 10 that is playable in a mid tier tank is not fun and by the way 3-5-7?  Whoever came up with that idea, should be slapped upside the head for being a bit slow.  Whoever approved that idea, should probably find a different job.

Why do people complain about the MM it will never change to any thing but random. Just do what I do not pay and more to WG

Let's put it like this. When you have a two tier difference in which the higher tier generally has twice your HP and damage, the lower tier is going to have a miserable game. Some people argue that this all ends at tier 10. My argument is that newer players learn how to play in those low tier games and should be competent at tier 10. In my humble opinion, the lack of skilled players is simply due to the system not allowing them to improve. A low tier can't spar effectively against something that will penetrate it's armor without any effort and deal immense damage.. It's somewhat ridiculous that this happens.

 

Consider this perhaps - There are less and less players in the match making as time goes on. If all games were single tier, or even .. 1 tier difference I am 78.82% positive that more people will start playing & enjoying random battles. As it is, the peak is when strongholds are up and thats where the more experienced players play for fun, because random battles right now just completely suck.

This is something you guys refuse to try, but - I'm sure everyone of us would rather wait 5 minutes in a game queue and get good match making than get a 30 second queue and ridiculous unfair match making.
