I will update this post with feedback and a list of bugs as I play more. I'm running on max graphics. Playing with a vanilla client.

List of bugs:

The bell on Himmelsdorf won't stop ringing. Rings throughout the entire battle, then keeps ringing in the Garage.

Destroyed tanks "float" in the air because of the crater formed underneath them. https://i.imgur.com/4Ab3dUz.png

The visual effects and sounds for getting shot are very underwhelming, to the point where if you don't see the damage indicator, you wouldn't even realize you were shot at. The sound is practically non-existent, and there isn't the red flash for getting hit as there usually is.

The physics are buggy. 10:15 and forwards on the replay. http://wotreplays.eu/site/4154834?secret=eacec1b63c01d117c2df15a8105661ff

There's a bug where you get stuck permanently loading into the Garage after a battle. Super annoying.

Game doesn't load into battle if WoT is not the active program on my Desktop. In other words, loading freezes if I minimize, and only continues if I turn it back to full screen.

Not all trees respond to the gun shooting. 13:40 and forwards on the replay. http://wotreplays.eu/site/4154838?secret=eacec1b63c01d117c2df15a8105661ff

There's a lot of lag when applying Emblems to different seasons via. the pop-up screen. Some minor lag for Inscriptions too.

I came to give my congratulations to WG for a great release and a fun server opportunity to test the new game and vehicles - thanks!

As it turns out, my found bugs are already described well by Scorpiany.  I noted the floating dead tanks and missing 'getting hit' notification and sounds.  For me, the latter was intermittant.  I'd take a couple of shots with no sound, then one would hit normally with sound and red marker.  I too am running ultra and vanilla client.  FWIW, my system is an i7 @ 4ghz, 16g ram, GeForce GTX970.  I was getting fps of 80-100+ and the game ran smooth and looked great, aside from the noted bugs.

So I noticed something weird with the lighting. As soon as I loaded in and adjusted the gamma I thought everything was strange looking. It's odd because to me on my potato laptop, it almost seems like the graphics got worse. By the way I run below minimum settings on both clients. The settings are identical between them. See the 2 screenshots below of my garage. The top is the 1.0 test server and the bottom is 9.22. The lighting is really off.

I wanted to say that I noticed a similar problem.  Lighting is not balanced - with my tank carousel and features very dark in comparison to the tank in the garage.  Adjusting the gamma only affects in-game and seems to help, but 'contrast' is very harsh.

As panzer demonstrated above, there is a problem - and I use a half decent laptop (i7, 965m Nvidia).  Overall though........very cool changes!

WGNA needs to push for a new ad campaign.  Ditch the old group; they make WOT look silly and casual.  Stop the Viagra silliness and the smashemup silliness.

Agreed, the long standing ad campaign is terribad and doesn't represent how the game plays (or how most people want it to play) at all. It looks more like smash em up derby with tanks, and makes it all look just stupid.

Does anyone know if you can turn off or if a mod can turn off the extra edges of the maps?

I prefer to just see the playable area not some eye candy edges.

Hey Tankers,

Check out our full article and link to the client download here.

Let us know what you think!

I think that using the words "quality" to describe your buttering up an already crappy funnel map such as Abbey by making it even more funnelized and completely eliminating the ability to move laterally from various lanes is hysterical.

you've made the abbey itself basically a death trap by eliminating one of the routes into it, making yet another route exit only, you've cut off 8/9 line completely from any type of mid-map exit/entrance strategy, as well as made 2 line exits into crash or crash+drown scenario's.  could you at least put a bridge on it so we can drive off of it - at least that would provide some level of entertainment.

having now played common test, and experimenting with settings, I honestly can't find a single setting that even really feels comfortable.  everything is grossly over saturated.  to the point where it honestly looks like some stay at home mom that just got a $300 camera, a pirated copy of photoshop and is playing with HDR filters while masquerading as a "photographer" to earn extra money.  you know, we've all seen them on instagram, facebook, or whatever...

my pc specs aren't .RUToaster spec at all.

I played 1.0 on the test server today and have two things that I would like to see addressed.  However, first I want to congratulate you on these new HD maps which truly enhance the gaming experience, so your tireless efforts have been well placed.  Now to the two problems I am experiencing.

First, I would like the map boundary to be clearly shown.  These new maps have surrounding areas that are as realistic as the playing area and it is easy to run into the boundary without knowing it, and this affects your results if you happen to be in a firefight at that moment (as your mobility is affected) .  I often do not realize where the boundary is without looking at the mini-map when my eyes should instead be on the enemy.

Secondly, I am having trouble determining that I have been penetrated unless I look at my health bar, and discover I have been damaged.  I am guessing that the new audio may be affecting the sounds that I count on hearing to tell me if I have sustained damage.  This also affects one's battle results as you sometimes do not know that you were damaged and need to find cover or move away.

Actually, the viewing/camo mechanics in this game are awesome.

Just a question dude,is there anything you don't like about this game besides arty? Are you a paid employ for wargaming or just a hyper fanboy.? :teethhappy:

I like that there is a button on the battle results screen to buy premium time which will apply to the battle that just ended.  It's a nice touch.

I would like it if WG toned down the tracer effects.  It looks a little too star wars-ish for my taste.

P.S. The rock outcrop at A1 in El Halluf may be a little too strong for the south spawn and is entirely worthless for the north spawn. It may be something to look at.

Okay there are 2 issues i have noticed at the moment and would like fixed ASAP.

1: You can't hear any hit sounds. When you are hit you have to take the time to see if you took damage or not therefore  taking your eyes off the battlefield. The is no sound for Bounces, Penetrations or critical hits. Nothing at all. EG. Shell type sounds like the regular hit or the sizzle. No hit penetration sound for different caliber guns.

2: When you first load in your nothing is properly rendered. The tank looks like some sort of bubble. I would attach a screenshot if possible but forums won't allow it.

3: Game sits on Updating Garage sometimes after coming out of a battle forcing a full game client restart. (I am not sure if others experience this is going based on what i have experienced)

Seems like a few things that need to be fixed ASAP. #1 being the main.

You have to be joking!

Complete revamp to maps so they play better and are hardly recognizable from the old (what I've seen so far with several yet to go)

This will be the best update Wot will release since the changes to the vehicle mechanics

Sound is fantastic both ambient and guns

Explosions are way better sparks, fires, tracers, ammo racks..

ALL I CAN SAY IS ....................WOW!!!!

There is little to not like about this change

If this doesn't impress you, you need Meds!

You are easily impressed.  The maps are almost identical to what they are now, with better detail.  Who cares, still the same corridor maps we have been playing for 3 years.  Lots of sound bugs right now, hope they can fix them.  This isn't a big update, just something that should of happened a long time ago.  WG was too stupid to go HD until now.

Don't know if this happens with any other autoloader but when ever I play in the Foch 155 it takes minimal of 45 secs to reload a clip of 3 shells, right?

So usually I can completely fire entire clip and then have to wait 45 secs. After the 45 secs this is where things get weird. I reload and fire 1 shot instead of waiting 5 secs till the next shot, it completely reloads the clip forceing me to wait yet another 45 secs. I haven't tested this to see if it happens with any of the other auto loaders. I will get to you if I do find anymore.

PS:As far as I know of it only does this in Random Battles and its done it once in Team Training rooms. The Foch B seems to not do it cause of its 2 secs between each shell but I will test it too.

Also I think this cause WG is trying to introduce the new loading mechanic for the new tanks later this year and its messing with the old and current auto loaders.

Alright.......I'm going to raise this again.

Is anyone having an issue with overly dark screen, and really harsh contrast?  Played with gamma, made contrast between dark and light really bad.......looks almost cartoonish.  I don't have a complete potato machine, but compared to existing WoT (9.22), it's awful.........is there something I should consider to adjust this?  Initial rendering of the tanks at battle countdown also takes about 5s or so.......when countdown starts, tanks are just a bunch of blobs, lol

it's awful - but for a generation raised on michael bay explosion effects in the movies, and HDR filters applied to their snapchat and instagram accounts it looks "awemazing"

So far the only issue i found is the Gamma setting.  After pre-setting it during the initial setup up, went back in to adjust but is not able to readjust.

Having one of the last Intel branded Extreme MB, it has Dolby and the sound is theater quality, using low end and high end headsets.

Graphics is cleaner and vivid, suprised with the older graphics card I have.  Noticed the enhancement of the maps, just have to learn the terrain changes.

Here is my PC Configuration below.

Intel Extreme DP55KG
Intel Core i7 K 85 2.93 ghz
Thermaltake Contact CLP0600 CPU Cooler dual fans
16GB @ 2133 MHZ
2TB Seagate SATA HDD @ 7200 rpm
Nvidia GeForce GT 430 1GB

I'll add in another annoyance.

common test server won't retain simple settings, like "window'ed mode".

No offense but if all you see is what you consider to be "unbalanced maps - just in HD" then you have bigger issues. Try reporting on what you think needs to be improved instead of being a butthurt baby.

What we need are new maps.  didn't realize you were that stupid to know that.  Not butthurt, disappointed that it's been 3 years and no new maps.
