I do not know about the XP but me in the IS-7 was physically blocked by a team mate vehicle to death and may have received compensation, just saying.

Explain this to me then? What in this planet, did this IS-7 do to get more XP than other players?

He did 0 damage, 0 assisted - He gets more XP.

Spoiler

3 hits, 3 spots. spots are worth about 8exp each. the three hits are the rest.

Or maybe this IS-7, who did a whopping 103 combined damage.

Spoiler

2 hits, 2 spots and 3 unique vehicles damaged. his 3 unique vehicles damaged made up for his partners extra vehicle spotted and hit.

Or maybe this amazing player who did a total combined of 718 damage... And finishes SECOND PLACE.

Spoiler

Churchill 3 gets bonus XP, so I suppose it is possible the IS-7 does as well.

But weird XP results are hardly limited to the IS-7

actually almost all the old premium tanks have hidden bonuses. thats why you see type 59s on the top of the team list even with crap results.

You have touched on why I will never play this game mode again. Sit at the back and pick off damage and kills while your team melts and you get top XP on the losing team and subsequently a chevron.

I don't think you get compensation for XP... Even if you do, it:

  • Shouldn't be much
  • Shouldn't count towards base XP
  • Only receive it if you were physically damaged by the ally. EG you lost HP by an ally's gun.

So that still wouldn't explain it.

The only thing that I see in those results that hasn't been brought up is most of these IS-7 were the first to spot a tank. Some spotted just 1, or 3...I don't think spotting a tank for the first time gives that much of an XP bonus, so that's probably not the reason for the difference .

spotting a tank at tier 10 is about 10 exp. i normally use 8 when calculating awards.

The damage was dealt at point-blank range. All the damage was done from a distance of below 300m. Most of it was done at point-blank range.

There is no "someone was spotting for someone else" at play here. Here's a thorough look at their detailed stats. https://imgur.com/a/v8nwg

Ya being point blank doesn't mean you spotted your own target.  Spotting system is wonky at the best of times.

I use the mod that tells me when I've spotted a target to help keep an eye on assist dmg since I drive lights a lot.

I have literally passive spotted a target, it's still right in front of me, 3 secs later it's taking dmg and Im not getting credit for it. Similarly a target I've spotted will be taking several hits at once and I'll get credit for some but not all of the dmg.  ie: first hit credit, 2nd hit no credit, 3rd hit credit, 4th and 5th killing blow no credit. It makes no sense.

It was never noticeable until they added the dmg assist tracker into the game to.

He isn't naming and shaming. This has nothing to do with the players driving the tanks.

I'm not naming & shaming the players, the players are just playing the game. It's the tank that there's an issue with.

Edit: Well... What do you know... Apparently you were right. I got struck down for "name and shame". I guess I'll have to edit the names out next time, even if they're not being named nor shamed.

Hello Tankers,

After reviewing this thread and the report that caused it to be moderated, I have removed the point from Scorpiany's record and am reinstating this thread.  I initially messaged him about this yesterday afternoon, and after my review and his response, I do not believe that it was his intent to name and shame any of the players shown in the images in the original post.  I would like to ask, both Scorpiany and the rest of you, that if you are posting a scoreboard screenshot please black out the other names unless it is absolutely essential to your thread content and does not violate forum rules.  You may not intend to offend someone, but they might not want their name broadcast to the community at large next to a particularly bad game (and we all have them from time to time).

Regarding Scorpiany's original post,  I do not agree with his position on the question of bias, and neither do many of the individual vehicle statistics.  However, we are looking into this and will file a report if our findings corroborate his belief that there is a base XP discrepancy on the IS-7.

Posting in a legendary thread.

I'm going to grind out an IS7 now to confirm these reports.

It feels nice to be able to post again. All this drama going on, and I hadn't even been able to respond to any of it! :)

I've edited out the names in the original post, and slightly tuned down the language to not attract further issues with moderators. However, all of the screenshots remain live.

There are a variety of theories out there as to the XP results, and one of the EU Coordinators has stated that because the tanks are not in "identical, mirror circumstances" that it is impossible to tell what was behind those XP calculations. He also stated that the IS-7 is not biased in regards to XP.

I am however, still very confused as to the results at hands. Some of them have potential explanations, but others still seem very confusing. It would be great if there was more specific information available as to exactly what goes into the XP calculation as a whole, and what kind of bonuses specific actions / events may grant a player.
