The ice is unbelievable.  Metal tracks on ice should slide....a lot, but as they are now they behave as if it were hard ground.  I'm sure the new game engine will allow for custom ground friction, especially negative friction to simulate ice.

But to keep it playable, only make it slip moderately at very high velocity and acceleration.

Negative.  The steal cleats on the tracks prevent tanks from sliding because the tracks are not rubber, causing the cleats to penetrate the ice and get traction. Also similar premise to snow chains on vehicles in areas where snow conditions is bad.

Frost cleats will give you that traction based upon my heavy equipment experience in the arctic.  I'm not stupid enough to drive on pack ice tho.  On glaciers it works just fine.

It would depend a lot on the tank.  For instance the experience of the 4th Coldstream Guards in the winter of 44 was that their Churchills were NOT good on ice, but their captured Panther tank could just trundle on by.

I've seen a picture of an Archer from that period that somehow flipped UPSIDE DOWN.

And none of that was on glaciers...

I think it would be sweet to be able to drift corners at higher speeds.  Bring that on! lol.

Come through in my 13-105 drifting through a corner dumping my clip sounds like a lot of fun to me.

How fast did this heavy equipment move and what was the hp/t ratio?

Its a game where we're already trolled by RNG and water's edges where its easy to fall in and hard to get out.

No thanks on being trilled by the ice also.

Although that would make a very cool Pz1C race course.
