Elk season was a bust. It was the first time I had hunted elk since 2015. Over the last 20 years Weyerhauser has slowly bought up and closed off all the land around our favorite spot. Now we are totally boxed in and probably won't be back. Out of 14 hunters in my immediate area not a single hunter filled a tag. It was good to get out of town for a bit anyway.

Sorry to hear that, Gman.

We have the same problem in our neck of the woods. More and more public land is going private...and straight to the logging barons. I hate to see that, too. Much of my old hunting grounds have now been clear cut. It's good that you got out, anyhow. I still try to get out there, with the help of the kids, but it's hard for me now. I hope to be doing some turkey hunting soon, this spring. Gonna dust off my old 12 gauge. Anyway, don't give up...there's always next year. Keep your boots in the field, and your scope rings tight.
