i really lack of understanding as for why this game, or any other game should stay the same as it started..

everything around you change moment after moment passing by.. even the very YOU change.. every single day..

and yet, people complaining about a game changing through the sooooo many years and the millions of players come and go..

everything is moving on.. this game will not stay behind..

neither should you..

cheers!

this is your opinion and i fully respect it.. after all you know this game before me, you have seen more than i..

yet the many changes i met in the 3,5 years i play, didnt spoil the fun i have while playing in my favorite tanks..

the goal is still the same as it was in the begin, "get in there and kill the reds" thats it..

now, the vehicles come and go, the players the same, the mechanics and graphics and the maps changing etc etc etc...

and yet the goal is still the same as it was from the begin.. kill the enemy.. turn their shiny vehicles into scraps..

i am having fun no matter what.. thats what a game is for after all..

I think the game has improved leaps and bounds over what it was at launch. However what has steadily dropped in quality is the general playerbase. You can build a great game but if the players all dribble off the court and shoot for the dumpster.. :bajan:

The quality of the player base is a big factor but not the only reason I think the game has gone downhill.

I am surprised "Tankgirl" finally stopped posting... I remember she was a character. You either liked her or hated her passionately.

Been here for the past six years.  Remember when Type 59's were still available, sealclubbing was something I was a victim of, and Dragon Ridge and Komarin were fun places to go.

Garbad, Lert, and Nithydux roamed the forums.....I guess Lert comes around sometimes and Garbad, let's just say  mysteriously dissapeared to say the least.

There was General Patton, Tuco 22, and the others.

Well I guess the old days are gone forever, but will never miss them.

:sceptic:

this place makes me feel OLD :/

I've been here almost as long, and I feel the opposite for the most case.

-Overall, match making is a bit more friendly. Tier 8 right now is the only one that seems a bit worse, and even then you're only bottom tier against 5 tier 9's and 3 tier 10's. Not too big of a hurdle.

-The HD tanks and maps are indeed nice.

-The game is easier and easier to play without a premium account thanks to the massive amount of personal reserves I seem to just get tossed at me.

-I'm not being one-shot by arty as much.

Yes, I want more maps, yes they took out some that I really enjoyed, yes some of the newer premium tanks are simply too good, and yes arty is still a pain in the butt at all times, but overall I'm having more fun than in times past.

Wargaming added the only nice mods (two layer carousel, hit logs, battle assistant artillery aim, etc) so no one needs to run any mods anymore, they're working on maps, more tanks are being added, Italy is on the way, and the full blown re-do in 1.0 looks promising. Good times currently and in the future is what I'm seeing.

I couldn't figure out GarBad frankly but I was so new to the game I guess I did not fully understand. I kept reading him though. And then one time, we were on the same team! Ruinberg, north spawn, he drives directly to E6, stops, and starts blasting away at the field, down the 6 line, and into the town. Man, he was busy. It was quite a sight to see. He got 3 kills and a ton of damage. He did not survive the battle but our team won easily. Great fun to watch.

Been playing since early closed BETA but didn't start frequenting the forums until I assumed leadership ( or had it dumped in my lap) of our community clan. The game has gotten more complicated with more frequent module damage which includes the newer stun mechanic and the improvements to game physics; add the sophistication of the game engine that renders an increasingly more robust image than the cartoons and caricatures that used to define graphics ...and more graphics updates incoming ... and you can start to see how much this game has changed with time to still be as compelling as its been for me.

But compelling as it might be, I miss some of the press of the chase to be able to climb the tech trees and the simplicity of the earlier game.

Yes, you have a great point. I shouldn't be so glum.

However, when this is the first video/pc game you ever played in your life with love at first battle......

I'm still here.

As for the rest the elites retreated to their wotlabs enclave to toss feces at wg without fear of bans and the others have drifted off into other interests. Normal life and times of a gaming forum.

Are you sure about that..?

Spoiler

I was waiting for someone to mention Jsnazz.

I'm still waiting for the Garbad vs Jsnazz showdown.

I kind of miss Walter_Sobchak and EnsignExpendable. They were the ones that got me into tank history and educated me on just how wrong the stuff I'd seen on TV was.
