I had purchased more then one (a few) before for the crews.

I think one crew went into my KV-13, one into my KV-85, and one into my SU-100. *Remember, it's a four-man crew. The dog doesn't count.

Plus you get the gold value for the Rudy (3,550) if you already own one, another garage slot, and those 30 5x XP wins in the Rudy.

The one-day sale price is higher then what I got my Rudy (and extra crews) for because it is bundled with 4,250 Gold and 30 5x XP wins in the Rudy.

Lastly, the Rudy itself is a pretty good tank.

My rating would be:

  • T-34-85M - the best one because more armor, higher DPM, and it's a Premium.
  • T-34-85 Rudy - second best because you get that BIA crew and it's a Premium.
  • T-34-85 - great tank, but the two Premiums above are slightly better.

It's a good deal and a great way to get more skilled crews for your Russian lines.

is it worth buy just for a crew?  I mean the first couple of perks train crazy fast already so getting bia doesnt take long at all.

Reason I bought the original Berlin quartet was the 4 crews.

Tempting, but I don't currently need the gold, and while the crew would be nice, it's not something I am desperate for right now. I'm saving my money until I see what is coming on the 22nd.  Or maybe for the tiger 131.

Precisely why I pulled the trigger.  The upcoming Tier X to dongle off of the Obj 430 II needs a crew and a ghetto-crew, simply won't do ...

What is it worth to you to have THREE skills in that same amount of time?

It's benefit becomes exponentially greater, the more perks you get. This is because the training requirements for each subsequent perk increases exponentially. Having the first perk free, means that your second perk takes as long as getting the first perk on a regular crew, and so on. The difference between a 6th and 7th perk is many thousands of games worth of XP. So if this is a crew you really want to play a lot with long term, then the benefit is extremely good.

Now is it worth the money? Well I would have bought a few if they did not pad the package with a bunch of stuff I don't need. So to me, it's not. However, if you are just starting down a new Russian line and don't already have a good crew to put in it, then probably yes. Since I have completed all the lines, the benefit is very low to me.

Here's how I reasoned my way into buying it, I would have even I wasn't about to start grinding my first Russian lines btw

It comes with 4250 gold and garage slot worth 300 gold, since I'm always short of garage space that one really is worth 300 to me and gold   even if I don't need it right now I will be at some point so deduct the price of 4550 gold from the purchase price

If you don't want the tank use the 30 5X personal reserves to train another skill on the crew and sell the tank for 710k credits

That means you've paid x amount of dollars (I bought in my local currency since I'm European so don't have the dollar amount) for what is now a decently skilled 4 man crew with their BiA as a 0 skill and 710k credits

How does that deal look now ?

Still flush with gold from the Christmas events or I'd definitely be pulling the trigger.

Excellent points - especially about the cost of training skills as I do not tend to think about the exponential cost since my crews have only three skills at the most.

Thanks for the cogent, concise, and relevant post.

Thinking I'm gonna buy one for my girlfriend and most consistent platoon-mate. I personally really like the 85M and don't see myself needing another crew trainer (the crew on it is one I swap between the T-43 and the T-54 mod. 1), but she needs a good credit-maker at mid-tiers and it'll be a good way to expose her to understanding the importance of skills and perks.

If you buy two extras, do you get double the x5 missions?

If it was just the tank and crew for ~$15, I would pick another one up.

I'm waiting on the Cromwell B to go on sale again.

Want to start training a crew up for the Super Conqueror line.

No dice for me.  Kinda spooked, notice significant server pop drop, so unless they put something really op out, not gonna spend any more real money on tanks.  Lotta good players went to EU cuz of tournaments and WG league.  That leaves 80 percent scrubs and some decent players.  Which leads to worse games.  Which leads to exodus of decent players to other games, till you only got camping scrubs left.
