It's already available. So easy. I went to play last night and it was a 6.4 gig update that could be paused. It automatically started for me. I let it go, so I am ready to go short of any bugs.

I noticed it mention Stage 1, just how many Stages/Patches will there be to download overall?

2 stages of a semi-large download.

On launch day there will be another download of last minute changes to patch the 2 previous files but overall will be much smaller than downloading the entire thing on launch day.

RU Fuc**ing KIDDING ME????

Six freaking gigs is NOT an update - it's a reinstall of the entire effing game.  What a total fail!

I have limited time to game and now I can't play until the next time I have the time because the "update" is freaking HUGE.

The design team has to be fully populated with MORONS.  This is "How to screw your customers, 101".  .....idiots.....

...have you not even remotely been paying attention? 1.0 is an entirely new build of the game, and is the official release (again, 1 point 0.)

Don't blame the development team because you don't read the news at all. And the "update" hasn't actually launched yet, and you have no obligation to download it early — you can still play the current version with no problems.

So, where do I get this pre-load launcher?

If you use the launcher and don't hit the play button immediately the preload will start automatically, no need for using any links.

You will also need to have the launcher settings set to do so, see Dave post previous page.

What? You're not able to download while you sleep? No need to install immediately. They are actually trying to keep you from having to wait for the download when it comes out, reading is hard.

For preloading question.  In the hd client there is a Window size option.  When i make it 200% the client size increases.  It says that it is for improving texture quality in game.  What impact does this have on quality in game?  Why does it increase the size of the client window?

That is the setting for the launcher's size, though I can't do 200% because my monitor doesn't support it.

I only found that a couple of days ago. I've had a microscopic launch splash screen for a year or more, running 4k res you sort of get used to minor scaling issues like that....but no more with wot :)

Hey all! Has anyone had this happen with these new update? I install the latest update 1.0 the day before yesterday, today I went to play and the entire game of Tanks was completely gone. like it was uninstalled (which it NEVER is). After restoring the game by file restore it is back.

My download started automatically, but if I knew the issues it was going to cause, I would not have done it. Ever since I downloaded it, I lose server connection ever few minutes. Never happened before, until I did that.

You can ask a friend or clanmate to burn the x:\games\World_of_Tanks\Updates\wot_1.0.0.804_na\ folder to DVDs and send it to you.  Copy those files to your installation folder.

It's part of WG's "Game Center". If you have WoWS, you should already have it; otherwise, it can be gotten here:

http://redirect.wargaming.net/WGC/Wargaming_Game_Center_Install_WoWS_NA.exe

Then go to Settings (the gear icon) and select "Get updates before their official release".

nope,its in regular launcher.

Where I live, I have very slow internet, which is okay for most things and for playing WOT.
But the past week has been a nightmare trying to download the pre-update file. Eventually I had to take my computer to a shop with good internet to finish downloading the files.
My question is: am I all clear now for when the new update patch comes? I mean, will my computer cope with it now, despite the low internet?
Thank you

I wouldn't recommend downloading a full patch on "slow internet", but I was — up until about a week ago — living at a house that had no cable connection that forced me to use mobile hotspot for everything. With the exception of ridiculously bad-weather days, I could consistently play WoT at around 75-110ms latency; patches were indeed a problem, though, unless it was the middle of the night and no-one else was using their mobile data near whatever tower I was on.

WoT is certainly playable on some surprisingly slow connections as long as the latency isn't bad, but as for 1.0, I'd imagine even after the preload, there'll be some much-smaller Day 1 files you'll need to download, most likely last minute fixes, or updates to the launcher or miscellaneous "instructions" for the client.
