Hello.   Let's say you're ready on Monday for a patch/update to go live.   Please consider allowing, for a day let's say, the patch to be downloaded completely in separate files that are not installed yet so that people can still play the game, then perhaps leave it downloading at a far more convenient time.  Then, say, on Tuesday you flip the switch which will then force the game to either install the files that have been downloaded, or download them if they're not on the computer yet.

As it stands now, the moment you decide to go live with an update/patch, a person has to first spend the time to download the files - and 5 gig is a sizable chunk to download.  If it's not a convenient time, that translates to not being able to play the game until you can.  And since we're paying by the hour to play this game, it also cuts into that paid play time as well.

So please consider in the future the option to allow patches / updates to be downloaded for a day before you flip the switch for them to be installed. Thank you for considering it.

EDIT: Turns out this option is there, but you won't know it unless you monitor the website.  One would think such critical information concerning the launching of the game on their biggest update in history would show up on the launcher, even as a reminder over the past two weeks, but no such luck.  Thanks for the info.

They've done that for the past two patches. My update for 1.0 downloaded a week ago or something.

WG gave players the option to download the patch early, I guess you chose not to use it. They also credit one day of premium if you have a premium account.

What is the problem?

Where is this option?  Not sure why that's not the automatic option as it makes too much sense not to allow it.  Just got back into the game a couple of weeks ago after being away for about a year.

EDIT: Nevermind - found it. Thank you.

No, just asking a question.  In your misery you seemed to have the need to project.

Thanks for the info.   Such a huge piece of information one would think it would show up directly on the launcher instead of the website that requires monitoring to spot.

As to your other point: If only people gave their real life, kids, spouses, siblings, social life, local events, jobs, responsibilities some attention ...

Word of tanks center, settings, download updates in advance. Its a bit more annoying but it dose help in the end.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it was in the launcher too, or it at least was when Game Center was launched, I just don't happen to have a screen shot of that.

I guess I'm sorry that I can more than adequately maintain my responsibilities while providing enough attention to my hobbies that I can provide information to snarky people on the interwebs.

This is the sentence I don't understand: "And since we're paying by the hour to play this game, it also cuts into that paid play time as well." Huh? Are you talking about paying for your high speed internet or what? I bought my computer and I pay for Internet service, what else?  "Personal Reserves" maybe?
