But doesn't sound help you in this game?

I hope this is not a permanent fix for this. They will probably do something in 1.1 for it or something.

Turning off sound may work for some if their computers have to process too much including sound but it doesn't fix the lag and input delay which are wholly internet related issues.

Guys, I just went through this with the map loading per battle being slow and going back to the garage was slow etc.... and I solved it by turning off the low frequency enhancer and manually setting my sound settings and taking them off the auto setting where they have the test sound tab. Saved it and restarted the game and it worked fine. before that I had turned off the Tessellation's and the Havok Physics, since they are cpu dependent, but it didn't really net me much fix until I fixed the sound settings. What tipped me to that was a bunch of Python errors I had in the logs. Hope that helps some of you. :)

Same problems and Turning off sound worked for me too

==> disabled sounds totally . Now I'am entering the game when the game is still counting 25 seconds ! But no sound anymore ! Wish they will fix it !

Before that , I tried to defrag my HDD, to set details to minimums, to set sound to low rate, to level up priority of wot.exe in windwons manger  Without any succces

The only successfull thing  was "disable sound ingame and restart game "

You should not have to disable a part of the game to make it run faster.

Removing all Mods helps also.

Over all 1.0 is Trash. Back to the drawing board.

If that helps someone, good for them. It didn't help me, but I was only loading in about 20 to 30 seconds late  about 9 battles out of ten.

( crappy rig; laptop, old, lame, on wifi)

I'll give it a try. Ridiculous - 15-20% of my deaths are related to slow loading maps. Either I load dead already or don't have time to move to an advantageous location. Gah!

If you PC is unable to load into maps in a timely matter don't blame the game.   Over the years the game has evolved and advanced demanding more performance from the PC's loading it.  Some of you appear to be playing with the same PC you had 6 yrs ago when you first started playing.  The game has left you in the dirt.

I play from a gaming PC that does not struggle to load the battles with all graphics and sound set to max values.  From battle button to map can be a little as 8 seconds by stopwatch.

You want to play this game as it's intended to be played then get a PC that can handle it and quit whining.

You make an unwarranted assumption. Not everyone with this issue is running a lame computer. I have a 3.1 Ghz processor with 8 gigs RAM and a GeForce 1050Ti 4 gig card. and the first battle of EVERY session is delayed by a minute or more. It used to be every battle until I used the solution others found. This is the ONLY game with this issue. Even warships runs smoothly and it is from the same general company.

First off set sound to 2.0, then select LOW quality sound.

Second get a free program called defragler and run it only on the folder your wot files are in to clean up the hash the vodka coders made.

Lastly depending on your vid card have the latest drivers, OR go back about 3 years for some Nvidea cards as the vodka coders screwed the pooch on coding for nvidea cards.

Doing this will get you in the game with sound and battles will load during the countdown, except for the first one. I keep a single tier 2 tank to run for the first battle of every session as a throw away because it will be a delayed entry with a stutter at the start of movement.

Check the 3 post's link, it is what is going on for us mechanical HD users.. So, do a defrag of the partion/HD that WOT is installed on.  Don't use the built in defrag, use Defraggler from Piroform, it actually defags much better.  I should help a lot.

CAUTION:  I loaded the latest NVIDEA driver issued 09/10 (399.24) and I started getting crashes to a black screen and a lockup.  Had to open an Admin account and use TM to kill WOT before I could get control of my system.  New drivers are not always the solution.  I rolled back to the 08/01 (398.82) driver and the problem went away.

I too have the slow battle loading and nothing changed on my system except WOT "updates."  I used to load faster and sat there during the count down.   NOW, by the time I get in my  team is half way across map OR on occasion I get in to find I am dead already.   So, something WOT did changed my loading times.
