UPDATED!!! This will now be a monthly contest, submit your clips/replays as described below and the audience/viewers will vote on the first Sunday of each month for the month prior.

Good Day Fellow Tankers!

Too often people only take time to insult each other about perceived (or actual) bad performance in games, spreading the negative juju all around town. So instead, I want to do something different. Instead of frags, funny moments, and amazing game-play (which is great but already getting attention) I am going to be rewarding instances of selfless service with the Selfless Samaritan Replay Contest. Every month I will select the best submitted replays and we will review them on my stream and let the viewers vote on which one should be awarded 4000 gold.

So, what kind of replays am I looking for? So you know how every now and then you see someone doing something selfless to help out a random teammate (not while platooning or in clan stuff though, that should be expected :) )… like up-righting a flipped tank, taking shots for a teammate who is tracked or damaged, helping free someone trapped by a dead tank, etc? Well, that is the kind of thing I am talking about, because regardless of how the player got there, another gun staying in the game gives the team a better chance to win, and sometimes that person who was aided by the selfless Samaritan actually makes a huge difference and sometimes it doesn’t, you never know at the moment.

The point of this replay contest is for you to submit clips/replays which capture someone performing an act of selfless service for another random player.  PLEASE NOTE: If you have a clip or replay of something selfless or awesome that you did for a teammate, we'd still love to see it and have now created a separate Tankers Helping Tankers forum topic here ( http://forum.worldof...psreplays-here/) !

Here’s the rules and how it works:

THE RULES:

Clips or replays must clearly show the deed done by the Selfless Samaritan.Try to provide a little bit of time before and after the act so that I can edit it well for the video!! XD

Clips/replays CANNOT BE FROM CLAN WARS, SKIRMISHES OR PLATOONS

Clips/replays must be submitted by 3:00AM Central the final Friday of each month (That’s so I can have time to review/edit/compile replays for that Sunday evening’s stream/vote)

Must be of a game that was played during that month (if the game happened after the cut-off it should be submitted for the following month’s contest)

Must be a follower on my twitch channel and must be present during the Sunday night stream to be awarded your share of the gold if you are voted winner- IF YOU ARE NOT PRESENT, THE ENTIRE PRIZE WILL AUTOMATICALLY GO TO THE SAMARITAN WHO DID THE ACT. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SUBMITTED AND WON, THE WHOLE PRIZE WILL GO TO THE SAMARITAN!

How to Submit

 Clips-

1. Post link to clip in this thread as a quote/reply to this post. Include in the post why you think the deed was a selfless samaritan act worthy of winning.

2. Watch the stream on the first Sunday of each month at approximately 9pm Central to see who the finalists are and to vote on the winner!

3. If you are the winner, you must send me a whisper immediately after the announcement with your WOT name so that I can gift you the prize or it will go to the Samaritan as mentioned above.

For Replays, submit as follows-

1. Upload replay to http://wotreplays.eu/ by the monthly cut-off date with "OminousFyxen SSAM" in the title

2. Post link to replay as a quote/reply to this post and explain why why you think the deed was a selfless samaritan act worthy of winning. INCLUDE THE TIMEFRAME/TIMESTAMP of the event please!

3. Join us around 9pm Central the first Sunday of the month to see who the finalists are and to vote on the winner!

4. If you are the winner, you must send me a whisper immediately after the announcement with your WOT name so that I can gift you the prize or it will go to the Samaritan as mentioned above.

Good luck!

Here's an example of a clip that shows a selfless act and is pretty entertaining, lol!

I was in a match tonight(tier VIII - X) on Fjords.  Yankee(--G--) was in his Japanese Type 5 HT, and I was in my Chrysler K.  Anyways, we kinda went middle, and I stayed behind for a bit until I noticed Yankee pushing the middle road and the other tier X tanks were staying under cover.  So I left cover and pulled ahead of him to force the enemy to divide their attention, and took 3 or 4 hits.  Yankee, being the great guy he is, pulled up beside me which allowed me to pull back before being taken out.  That action enabled me to get off a few more rounds for damage against our enemy before they finally got me.

I've been playing about as long as Yankee, and I have to say he's always kept an eye out for his teammates, regardless of their skill level.  Thanks for the help Yankee, and it was good to see you on the battlefield again!

Today's the last day for this week's replays, no entries yet, so if you have one from this week you've got a great chance to win the 500 gold, lol. :)

Hey, Fyxen!  I love this idea for this contest.  This is great.

The more players have this type of thinking in their mind, the more apt they are to do it.  I'll make sure to promote this, and if there's anything I can do to support it, just let me know.  (actually, I have an idea, but I'll message you)

I actually had a rare instance last night where I was able to do this for someone and it felt great.  I was a little slow to recognize it, but I would love to see more people doing this kind of stuff.  I liked that the Relic guy knew that was the best move too.

I don't want to submit this into the contest, but here's the replay.  Also, at the end of it...how in the world do you drown yourself on this map!?!?

Lol, not sure how someone could drown, maybe flipped on their top? XD  This was great, awesome to have the opportunity to help out a teammate and the teamwork worked! :) This is a great example of the kind of thing I am looking for and wanting to highlight! You should submit it!

Around 11:35 on the game clock, I saved my tracked platoon mate from a Lorraine 40T by moving in and taking a hit for him. Then stayed in the way and killed the Lorraine.

*****EDITED: NOW YOU CAN SUBMIT CLIPS AS WELL- SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS*****

Too often people only take time to insult each other about perceived (or actual) bad performance in games, spreading the negative juju all around town. So instead, I want to do something different. Instead of frags, funny moments, and amazing gameplay (which is great but already getting attention) I am going to be rewarding instances of selfless service with the Selfless Samaritan Replay Contest. Every week I will select the three best submitted replays and we will review them on my stream and let the viewers vote on which one should be awarded 500 gold. Then each month, I plan to let the viewers vote on which of the weekly finalists should get the 1000 gold prize.

So, what kind of replays am I looking for? So you know how every now and then you see someone doing something selfless to help out a teammate… like up-righting a flipped tank, taking shots for a teammate who is tracked or damaged, helping free someone trapped by a dead tank, etc? Must be of a game that was played during that week (if the game happened after the cut-off of 3AM it should be submitted for the following week’s contest)

Must be a follower on my twitch channel and must be present during the Saturday night stream to be awarded gold if you are voted winner.

How to Submit

3. If you are the winner, you must send me a whisper immediately after the announcement with your WOT name so that I can gift you the prize.
