Hey guys - I usually don't post - but I do read post's in the forum - so bear with me please...

Battletech is set to release April 24, 2018. I remember a couple years ago just before Warthunder was released WOT players got really crappy. I suspected foul play by Warthunder. It was almost as if the quality of the players changed overnight. Many players were also saying in chat that they were wanting to switch to Warthunder because of how bad WOT was getting...

Well here we are again - Battletech is about to get released - and it is as if overnight the player quality changed dramatically. I suspect foul play by Battletech. I think they are paying for "bad players" to throw games and act dumb in battles to discourage WOT players - in an effort to sway the player base into switching to Battletech... It happened the same way when Warthunder came out - and after it was released things almost instantly went back to the way they used to be, and WOT was fun to play once again. Comments from veteran players?

We've had baddies since the very beginning.  Free-to-plays tend to scoop up the remnants at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the capability of the general population.

Had a quick look at the game. Might be interesting but it’s apples and oranges in regards to game comparison.

I dont see any comparison either myself - and a company paying enough people to degrade the entire player base seems rather silly

That seems to be a bit of a stretch. While I love the Battletech world and will be trying it when it comes out, it has very little correlation WOT. Whereas War Thunder is a comparable product. Not to say that I believe the War Thunder theory either.

That's complete nonsense, it never happened. You need to take the first train out of Paranoiaville and come back to the real world.

There's nothing like a good conspiracy theory. This one isn't that good. WG can ruin WOT without any outside help.

Battletech is turn-based.  As previous responder said:  Apples & Oranges.

Maybe a higher percentage of bad players just leave to the new game so it seems like the games are better when they leave

Well, "tinfoil hattery" aside, we did have back-to-back VIII-to-X sales, what with Xmas and then the Anniversary roll out, so yes, there are likely more players that took advantage of the sales to get tanks they could not otherwise afford at the time.

In that case, you would have more players who are 'new' to TVIII or higher, where I suspect you're more likely to see skilled players. I have certainly noticed that more gold seems to impact my hull at the higher tiers than lower ones, so that's going to have an effect on team DPS as well (and thus winning). Both of these are going to have an effect on apparent match win ratios.

In my opinion, it wouldn't take an imbalance of more than 2 skilled players on one side to swing things heavily. If the above is the case, I'd expect to see it last for a few months at most, and it should even out a bit since either those new players will have "getton gud" or will have run out of silver to play at the higher levels.

Just something off-topic though: The only reason I ended up finding this post was because I decided to look up your WN8 after I was in a battle with you. You were quite vocal about bad players then. I see you've mustered the courage to post here on the topic as well.  Good for you!  You won't learn if you don't ask. That said, maybe ask more in chat and state less, since to be frank, you didn't really do all that well (though neither did I), and so your statements in chat came across rather hypocritical.

Also, spam-calling people a 'noob' at TVIII and above if you're not explicitly and demonstrably skilled just makes you look like, well, a newbie player at best. It's really the equivalent of spamming 'cuck' at someone on a forum. Something to consider.
