Low tier ramming wont work - Tier 6 and above is one of the requirements.

So you prep your best tier 6 & 7 lights and LEEEEEEROY JENKINS your way to a quick marathon win.

Betcha it still works at mid tiers... that's how ez it is to be top ten.

Well getting the first 5 phases is not too hard and that would mean a 50% discount to buy the rest. My plan is to do as much as I can and buy the rest on the 26th.

World of Warships handles these kind of events far better than World of Tanks ever has, and while this marathon is a bit better than the Personal Campaigns, its still hellaciously grindy and ultimately not worth the time. Even if you make minimum wage in the US, you need to "grind" at work for four or five hours to earn enough money to buy this tank, as opposed to the dozens of hours that you'll have to spend earning it through the marathon. For folks that can't afford to spend the money on the tank, I'm happy that there's an option there for you to obtain the vehicle (I want everyone to have a chance to own cool tanks), but to me it seems like a ludicrous amount of work for a comparable pittance of a reward.

Agreed; great event.

Did my own math, and I should be able to do it in about 260 battles in a couple of tanks in which I average ~1200 XP these days.  That's just a little over 18-19 battles a day, and maybe ~2 hours, so quite doable.  Don't think it's worth trying to get lucky at Tier X.

You do realize that its only around 22k a day which is perfectly feasible for skilled players who can earn that in around 3 hours maybe less for unicums. Also most who are earning minimum wage aren't wasting money on things like pixel tanks so you can just throw that comparison out the window.

If it takes 6 minutes a battle, including queue times, countdown, etc, then you would need to average 730+ base XP a game to do it in 3 hours.  Certainly not impossible, but would require fairly good and consistent play, with limited bad luck from the MM.   If prem time and boosters counted, it would be even faster.

Ludicrous amount of work?

I play WoT, not work WoT. lol

There were jobs I had in the past, which I would rather grind out marathon mission than work one more hour at.

This mission I don’t care enough to put the effort or money to get the tank.

MM isn't that relevant when you play intelligently to maximize XP gains.

This is not really that hard to accomplish playing tier 6-9 scouts, for the most part...

I may play all premium scouts to earn coin the entire time to boot.  Type 62, 13 57, M41 90, T92, ELC Even 90...

so what are the odds that the first tank finished with this marathon will have like 300+ battles in a object 268v4?

...and for that reason

I'm OUT !

I think Tier X will be challenging, everyone will be playing their best tanks with premium everything loaded.  exception of the blocked damage, If you have a tier X super heavy the blocked damage should be easy if you don't have to survive or win.  I can get 5k blocked damage in my Maus by just spawning ;)

^maus reference funny and true.

one thing the original poster, in his original post isnt considering is how many t/8prem tanks WG has sold for sometime, and that doesnt include other tanks. take for instance the t/5prem sales, and some(or more)of them suck. how much does that t/5 suky sherman (thats not)improved. like $80 top package. this has been going on for some time,,if you havent noticed. so 1-8 that can be a 'free' reward, and oh play the game (that we have how much money,-a day-, in?)to get it, 300 battles in 2 weeks, thats a lot, what about the 500 or more that one quoted, how many is that a day, like a lot more than i plan to play. although some of the prizes added up look, well interesting. i ll see.
