The FV 4005 is basically a centurion hull with a giant gun on it and NO ARMOR....WHY WHY WHY does it turn half as slow? Makes ZERO sense. It should at least have 15 more traverse speed than it has right now.

I cant upload the stats because Wargamings forums only allow basically 16 bit images to be uploaded BUT if you look at the stats of these 2 tanks it doesn't make any sense.

Balance is much more important in this game than logic.  That's why the same gun can be more accurate and have a higher ROF in a smaller tank when that tank is a higher tier.

well accuracy makes sense...its basically an arty CANNON mounted onto a cardboard refrigerator box...which is why it should be a little bit faster when it turns...

If it were truely a BALANCE thing..why does the FV4005 turn SLOWER than the FV215 183?

The 4005’s gun, and all HE-based guns, are a broken mechanic that need removed from the game. Be glad WG keeps this stupid doom cannon in the game at all.

You don't seem to understand what I meant.  The IS-4 is a smaller and much more cramped vehicle than the ST-1.  Despite this, the M-62 cannon they both mount fires faster, is more accurate and handles better in the IS-4.  This is because Balance<<Realism in WoT.  For the same reason, the 4 ton manual drive turret in the M18 traverses much slower than the 8 ton manual drive turret in a T-34-85.  Logic dictates that M-18 should be able to traverse its turret faster, yet balance dictates that the medium should be much more mobile and flexible than a tank destroyer.  Thus, the medium gets artificially inflated traverse speed as a balance factor.

the 4005 does turn faster than the 183. 4005 has traverse of 30 to the 183s 24. The 4005 also has better ground resistance making it even faster at turning

the 34 85 has a motor turned turret not a hand cranked one like the hellcat.

Yes, but the 4005 has a MASSIVELY better gun.  As has been told to you multiple times in this thread, Balance >> Realism.

You just don't want to listen.

its not about REALISM..its about consistency... same tank hull with a turret with 200 armor..goes 50km/h turn at a rate of like 55...slap a 14mm armor turret on the same tank with a different gun..suddenly that same tank hull drives at lmax 20km/h and turns at 30

Because for the VERY same reason the Skorp G, and any other TD with a Huge gun and NO Armor does. Because that's in the game on purpose. Why do you think it's camo rating is so CRAPPY. (But a Russian 80 ton TD's move as fast mediums tanks and only has one little tiny part on the front you can pen !) Not because it's huge. No because that's the way WoT's wants it. The very same reason certain maps were removed that support TD's, light tanks and SPG's because some people, Mostly heavy drivers and certain big clans, kept crying about how unfair it was that Dragon Ridge, Pearl River, Hidden village, Komarin, Severogorst, Port and Northwest didn't let them go nose to nose brawling all over the map !

  That's why !

I have no idea why you're always on about that, most top clans prefer medium tanks over heavies, and don't like the map meta. Most good players I know tend to hold up the eastern side of steppes as the ideal for the game (open, but with lots of scattered cover and ridgelines).

As far as I know, a significant part of the current meta stems from wg hiring Murazor (a Russian/EU unicum) to help with balancing, and he's been on record as saying that medium tanks should never beat heavies because that's how it was in real life. So, basically, they found one of the few unicums who would balance the game away from being focused on mobility/flexibility and reasonably fast-paced gameplay.
