I just got my first Tier 10 tank, the M48 Patton.  But I wanna know what's the reason to play it now?  It counts as an Elite Tank, sure, so crew training if I need to.  But outside of that...  What else?

Same reason you'd play any other tank. To have fun and enjoy the game. M48 Patton is also great for Ranked Battles, CW and personal missions.

Tier 10 has no crew training benefit. All fully researched vehicles are Elite Tanks not to be mistaken by premium tanks.

Crew training is more referring to accelerated training.

I watch him now and again.  After playing through the line I understand it's a fantastic hull-down tank with good DPM.  The question was more or less why play Tier 10.  I'm gonna assume it's a money drain, considering how Tier 9 was.

It is a great tank and fun to play, but unless you are a tank savant you will lose credits and not have much fun at X when you have played less than 3.5k battles.  This is because Tier X is punishing to noobs, including permanent noobs such as myself.

Sadly you have learned what most end up realizing ... top tier isn't really that special.  Tier 10 play is about as bad as tier 2 in most cases, just as many blow outs, leeming rushes, yolo's ... the list goes on.  Yes there are moments, but they are rare.  There's CW ... but that gets old pretty fast.  Its a costly tier to just hang out at for most people too so the play for fun looses its luster quickly.  What comes to mind quick enough is you can get the same level of fun from tier 5-7 and it plays better over all [same list of maroons but the maps aren't too small and the various mechanics hold up better] - you don't loose money and make about the same xp.

WoT REALLY needs a GOOD reason to get to tier 10, CW / SH isn't it - as show by how popular tier 6 SH / TC were [and the few CW events at those tiers].   Any how's enjoy the tier 10 the few times you'll find interest in playing it.

The only time I play my tier 10's is to complete missions. I enjoy the grind to the next module or the next tank as it feels like you're working towards something. You just don't get that at tier 10.

It's the end game content? It's peak tankage.

You're always top tier, but it's hard to make credits.

Other than that, the ultimate reason to play it is for Clan battles.  To prepare for that, you should play a lot of pub matches to learn how to use the tank.  But I see you're not in a clan at this time, so you can probably hold off on that.

Unless you need a tier X for some mission or something like ranked battles, tier X is kinda pointless. Tier 9 can do just as well as tier X, tier X is just going to drain most players credits after each battle, and tier X costs way too much for what you get. For me, not worth the cost of operation. And you can elite any other tank so that is not unique to tier X.

You need a tier 10 to enjoy the tears from the next season of ranked battles.

First and foremost do whatever you want (as long as it doesn't intentionally affect others enjoyment) it's a game.

That said I would personally recommend going back and playing a lot in other tank lines and round out your experience. You have played others but mostly have ground down the U.S. medium line.

Now myself personally I didn't cross the tier 6 until 5k plus games (except for the on-track missions of the British Med. line when the Action X was introduced.)
