How many times have you been messaged during or after a game, pinged non-stop on the map or otherwise hounded because you’re that TD thats pushing, or heavy that is sniping, a medium that’s scouting or a light that’s supporting/flanking?

-We can all point to the broken Obj 368 v4 as mimicking a heavy as the first example.

-The WZ-111/alpine tiger can almost be a medium because of its speed but its not great at it.

-The E50 and E50M are mediums that everyone plays as heavies. They do better than most heavies!

We can include arty in the conversation but I don’t think any tank could mimic its class, although some artillery do act as TDs when push comes to shove (but not that well I’d say)

What Light, Medium, TD or Heavy mimics another class evenly or better than those categorized in them?

What tank do YOU play as another class in your playstyle that works for you??

We can include the T30 that most people play as a heavy. Most dont realize its a TD by the way it plays. It was a heavy at one point though.

Panther doesn't play like a medium.

A-44 is more of a heavy.

All I can think of right now

Heaviums are a great example of a crossover tank class. Vehicles that fall under this are: 5a, 113, IS7, 260, 430U, and a few others that can do both. These can play both rolls very well and are in my opinion one of the best classes to play if you are trying to play solo in randoms and keep a high winrrate.

Patriot makes a great Medium when bottom tier.

Matilda makes a great Heavy when top tier.

Cromwell makes a great Light when needed.

The entire line of British TDs leading to the Badger play like Heavies.

The mid tier British and American turreted TDs can be played like Mediums.

A lot of glass cannon Mediums (Firefly, M4A1 Ravioli) would probably be better played as TDs.

M3 Lee & Grant are basically TDs.

Valentine is basically a Heavy.

T20 is a medium, but plays like a light. So is the Panther.

Super Pershing is really a heavy.

Gotta say the Patriot is very much like a medium at bottom tier as indicated above.

M$ Revelorise should be played more like a TD: binocs and sit in a bush.

T95 and Tortoise definitely should be out front with the Heavies.

Most fast mediums can easily function as scouts since the LT nerf. (Especially at top tiers)

I play my T-28 Proto like a Heavy a lot.

If you're careful, the Strv's can act as flankers too, due to speed and really good camo.  Plus the 103-B is a pretty decent rammer.  Slam into them and shoot with your muzzle up their bum.

I've played the Charioteer as a medium lot of times, it's like a Cromwell with a better gun.  And it has decent view range.

In general, light tank changes have really blurred the lines between what is a light and what is a medium in many cases. More specific examples of flexible vehicles:

The T25/2 can switch between TD and flanker medium roles rather easily.

T28 Prot is capable of being a support heavy when the MM is generous. The same is true of the Matilda IV and M4A3E2 when top tier, but only in support heavy role.

The T67 can be a great little passive scout, so there's a TD/light tank crossover.

I'm about 7k in free xp away from unlocking all the components on the T30, and I'll certainly play it at least some of the time like a support heavy.

The KV2 can feel like horizontal arty on a day when the gun is trolling you.

Mostly right except Charioteer for me. That was a big mistake for me and the reason why my WR was in the trash. Although Charioteer has speed, it lacks armor and more importantly horrendous turret traverse. So, don't try to mimic the med but use the speed for relocating. Hope it works well for you.

I try to play them all as arty. Sit in the back, load HE, and try lobbing it over a hill at the enemy. Of course, SPGs tend to do that better than me. But, I can go TD-mode better than most SPGs.

The b-c for sure ...its only it's size that really set it as lights in most people's minds

you play as a light when your clipping and once your magazine is reloaded you go dump it on a tank side then go back spotting

Skorpion G can be played similarly to a paper medium such as the CDC or Leopard 1 series

Heavies can sometimes make decent scouts.

Russian heavy tanks mimic Russian medium tanks very well.  The only difference are the heavies have fatter crew members.
