The Japanese heavies can do stupid thing other heavies just can't get do. Enemy heavy +2 tiers is sidescraping perfectly? Easy 300+ damage. Cheeky scout decided to poke? RIP him, thanks for the 1100 damage, buddy. Big HE guns are bad enough on mediocre/bad platforms like the KV-2 and FV4005, but put them on a superheavy and it becomes a whole new level of stupid.
The devs have been pushing the limits on what they can do in order to make each of the 50 lines in this game unique, and some of their decisions led to more than questionable choices.

lt is not uncommon for them, to take zero damage. Especially if it is a Bat Chat SPG.
Unlike the super heavy tanks out there, like Jag Pz, EHundo, Maus, PzK Vll - that feature large engine docks that are only fourty to fifty (mm) the Type 4 and 5 are literally layered in 75mm minimum armour everywhere. lt makes them among the best, if not the best HE absorbing tanks in the game, considering their high HP and spaced armour panels too
lt will literally take minutes straight, of firing, for even 3 arty on a team to destroy a single Type 5.

as an ISM owner...yeah I tend to give up or run when I see a Type because gold rounds just don't reliably pen even when you get the hull cheeks at the right angle.
Doesn't make the Types any less of a problem because they're extremely trollish. They need to give the Type 4 the hull from the oho, remove the 15cm derp from the Type 4 and the gold round from the type 5.

It' great that its arty food and all but that's not a defense to leave it as is.

in corridor maps, the counter to the type5 is either to out last their team, or pray to RNGesus whichever HE flinging opponent on the enemy side (FV/183/Type) manages to high roll it more often than the amount of rolls they take trading with it.
