I can't enjoy this game anymore, I am a bad player trying to get better look at my last 1k battles.   I find this weekend and continuing into this week that a weak player like myself no longer can enjoy the constant beatings i'm consistently receiving.   I was almost happy before last update to .3 that the match making at least for me was becoming somewhat even, bad and good but even.  I play different tanks and try different strategies but seems like no matter what i try the teams I'm on are just the worst and coming from a bad player thats real bad.  Listen I heard it from the players that have 30k battles and have the experience, but for me I probably will never get there.  I play for fun and enjoyment and I guess because I don't wish to invest the time needed to play amongst the more experienced players I will fall out eventually.  I see in this forum somewhat the same attitude of new players dealing with the same outcomes of their battle results.  The other day I had a player on my team tier 7 0k battles 350 damage and was listed as a 60% player other than a reroll how could that be possible.  So now what you get on the break down of match making is someone that knows that tank but was as bad as I was rerolled to get the higher win rate.  I know it's a crap shoot for MM but wargaming should look into maybe limiteding the players with 20k battles and probably having trained crew of 4 skills or higher to club seal in premium tanks below tier 6.  I guess they get thier azz kicked playing 9 & 10 tiers so they have to have FUN club sealing someone who is really trying hard to get better.  Wonder maybe I should go down to tier 1 & 2 to have fun but I probably will run into someone with 30k experience and 5 or 6 skills and perks lol.  What do you think is an good average of battles for each tier level to learn 2k's per tier?

You can still have fun playing the game while learning to get better. The game is all about situational awareness and positioning, I suggest watching some WoT youtubers like LemmingRush, Anfield, Zeven, SirFoch. They explain the game and break down their decision making in such a way that you can apply the same thought process in your own battles to become a better player.

I would suggest you start with this:

Hey cocobabygirl,

Sorry you're having some rough games, believe me, it happens and it can be disheartening.  When I started I was completely terrible and clueless until I started platooning with players a lot better than me.  I realized I wasn't being patient or methodical, but rather just run and gunning.  The biggest thing I did to improve my games was understanding a tanks roles, armor, DPM, and overall capabilities.  I know its a crazy amount of information to intake and retain but after awhile, it starts to become second nature.  Another thing I did was to play "forgiving" tanks.  So tanks like the American heavy line or the Russian heavy line.  I'm sure you've tried most of this before, but just wanted to let you know what helped me.

I long ago created an account to play when I just dont feel like trying very hard.

So when I start to tilt, I can just play the game mindlessly.

p.s. Don't forget, many people rerolled over five years ago. Or came from console or Blitz.

Try going back to tiers 3 and 4 for awhile, you'll be less discouraged playing against people who are more likely to be in your skill range. The fundamentals and basics of the game can be learned at these lower tiers.

There is no other reason to play the game. Ignore the rest of it and play the game to the best of your ability.

I use the same account.  Because I don't care about stats.  I highly suggest not letting the wins and losses affect your feel about the game.  I play well (when I'm not doing something completely stupid) but my wins are very rarely up to me.  I'll be kicking butt against 3 tanks in one corner, get done with them and then see that my whole team is dead.  Can't let it get to you.  Play your game and see if you have fun playing.

PS - I'm grinding this Progretto now.  If I log in and I'm in my stock engine Mauschen on Prohovroka(sp?) and 3 arty on the other team, guess who's spotting middle field!

............

Sometimes I feel like a minority around here because this is the only account I play on. My first, one and only main account. Always has been.

Spoiler

The truth is that it's ok to give up now, let go of the handles of the bicycle and let the wind or pavement hit your face

Thing is, I don't believe anyone who claims to not care about their stats when they regularly participate in conversations about stats, use xvm with stats, and display sigs with stats.

They are usually just acting too cool for school. Or they are really bad and know it.

p.s.

Not aimed at any one person.

Especially not WC, as I have met him in TS, and we share a common friend.

He's quality through and through. And SuperUnicum in Blitz if I recall correctly. ;)

Not so ... at least, not that I've come across in the rules.

As long as you follow the rules and try your best ... no one can expect more.

Or, maybe it's best to just not get involved.

Best rules.

In either case, Ken....the outcome is still inevitable:

I've been playing for years and I have a lot of games under my belt.  I have been grinding up the Czech line, and I have found Tier VIII unplayable.  So you're in good company.  I have pretty good stats so I know what I'm doing.  Tier VIII is only playable with certain tanks, like the Borsig.  It really is not fun right now.

Good idea. How about it, OP...?

I will join, and I won't even switch over to an anonymous 'alt account' like so many other players "respectable forum members" do before they join my rooms. Because "Serb forbid" they ever get publicly caught "slumming it with ISS". If there's a room, I'll be there. With my one and only main account. This one. Besides, I need the practice too.
