How painful was the FEVER missions to anyone that did one or more?

I completed Tier 6-7 and 8 missions to give my Type 62 and Somua SM crews a big bump in skills.

Debating whether to run my Xs tonight and push through that because I know I'll kill my already bad WNR in them.

I found myself running tanks just for the sake of the mission. I wasn't playing well and not concentrating.

I'm average at the game so any loss in that ability spells quicker death and more frustrating play.

Do missions like these that you participate in end up leaving you satisfied with your play or worse off for it???

Too much grinding ruins it.

To answer the title: I think missions do add to the game, as long as they're accessible. When you have to be Quickybaby levels of good in order to stand a chance at them, they're obviously useless to the rest of us. Whether the interest that it adds to the game for high performing players is worth giving them an extra reward that they dont need and would just increase their ability to rollstomp us plebes is another conversation.

To answer your post: I did the tier 2-5 Fever mission in my Matilda BP to grind my Cromwell crew. I found the reward at that tier (15k, i thought it was 30k, my fault for not reading all the way through) completely NOT worth the time spent on it. If I'd spent that time on tier 6s or maybe tier 8s I'd have probably found it worth the time. As it was I didnt bother finishing tier 6 (I'd gotten about halfway through playing my Dicker Max and T-34-85M while waiting for the matilda to get out of battle.)

However, the 1.5x exp per qualifying mission was nice. Also I've discovered that I can statpad quite nicely when waltzing Matilda, though apparently so can everyone else because I couldnt eke an ace tanker out of it. I could get used to these fast firing British guns that can track an enemy, put two or three shots in his lower plate, track him again, repeat for 15 shots or until well done.

I gave up. Too many Pro crappio's tooned or otherwise, zerging and sperging.

Went to tier 9, ran my beautiful AMX 30, and farmed them, then things got much better, tier 8 straight was just a procrappio nightmare. Six skill crew and 7 second load on AMX allowed me to out DPM aggressive procrappios, since they can't take me down in one clip. Funny watching them run away and try to stay alive.

I think I saw you on El Halluf in that AMX 30. If it was you, you were paired with a Progetto as the last two tanks versus 4 enemies and pulled it out.

Yeah, actually that happened a couple times. Working with a Progetto in my AMX works great. They can harass and I can cover them on reload and keep hitting with that high alpha french gun . . . hmmmm, a new toon meta???

I finished the Tier VIII mission after giving it about 1 hour Friday, 2 hours Saturday, and 2 hours yesterday.  I just ran crew xp and credit boosters and messed around.

Converted 150,000 free xp on discount using left over Christmas gold.  So now I have enough free xp (670,000) to pass any crap tanks in the next lines I pursue.

I was enjoying smacking them with HESH in my Charioteer all day yesterday.  Gotta love explosive rounds on paper mediums.....

Thats awesome.

I used up most of my gold to convert almost a million in Free XP. Ill never XP through a tank. I only use it for modules like guns, tracks, engines etc.

I don't pay any special attention to any missions that I cannot complete by simply doing what I want to do, in the main part at least.

Missions that require me to do what WG wants me to do are essentially dead to me because I play for fun, not to be forced to "jump through hoops".

That should be how we all should look at the game. I was tempted to avoid it as well. I run some premiums anyway and once I was up to 5 / 25 in tier 7, I was hooked....Im weak...lol

The f__ing WIN requirement is what ticks me off with these.  If I was given a chance to win every game, I could understand this.  But when I'm given the cr_p I'm given most games, it gets really frustrating that I have to win.  I don't have the time to waste on losing causes when I'm trying to grind out these missions - so my teams suffer as I depart early from the lost causes.  Oh well, Wargaming must know what they're doing...

This mission just doesn't do anything for me.  I just played normally and didn't even bother with this one.

I've been running my e25.  Saturday evening, I could not lose.  I went something like 12-1 with an average WN8 of well over 2k.

Last night, I could not win.  I only had 4 more wins to complete that mission, and went something like 1-5.  Too many oranges to carry, battle after battle, and some wasted efforts.

I've been playing Warships more since they had the cheap $9.99 sale for the Texas and Graf Spee, so that's cut into my WoT time a bit.

Even so, when I saw these fever missions, I did slide down to the tier 2-5 mission to play pretty much care free, and I had a blast running the Matilda IV, Matilda BP, T-29 and Churchill III.  Was nice to get them some play time, the matches were fairly short and the whiners who always complain about the team, the mm, and tanks not playing their roles, etc., were almost non-existent in the battles I was in. Good times!

Didn't really need the 15k free xp as I've 350k stockpiled already but it doesn't hurt to gain more while having fun! :)

Says, I saw you on serene coast in your T54E1. After I was popped off, I shadowed you for the battle. Props to you and the solid play.

Missions where there's limited choice to a set of specific tanks that you must typically pay for is not very inspiring, creative, or appreciated.

Many times special missions actually hurt the game imo.  What little team play existed before many missions (Random Battle) is reduced to not only zero but it (special missions) helps to create a whole new meaning to - "everyone out for themselves," in what was supposedly a team battle mode.
