So in World of Tanks I am currently entering teenager-hood (tiers 5-6) and I have a lot of questions about whether the next tank in my line is worth it or just absolute grinding (I'm looking at you, M3 Lee). The Following is a poll on the next tank in my line and whether it is worth it or not.

(Don't say this poll is pointless, I take public opinion very seriously).

The E2 is so fun to play because it's sort of a "heavium". When you're low tier your rof is great for support and when you're high tier your frontal armor is impenetrable. The armor is actually pretty decent overall, and I've bounced T29s before.:P The Lee was a terrible grind, but it leads you to either the American medium or heavy line, and both are really great lines. The E2 leads to the T29, which is a fantastic tier 7 heavy.

KV-1 is a really nice beginner tier 5 heavy because it's really balanced in terms of speed armor and firepower because you get to choose between a Derp and the 85mm, but it's hard to enjoy it when playing against high tiers. The KV-1 also allows you to grind three different tier 6 heavy tanks (and the KV-1S)

The duck is absolutely awful in any battle above tier 4 and the speed is atrocious. I had to free exp that tank because it's just a really bad Matilda. The ELC got ruined in the light tank update and the whole line is really challenging in my opinion because of the autoloaders.

The Hellcat was sort of a disappointment for me because I didn't click with it the same way I clicked with my T67 and M8A1, and I think it's because Wargaming nerfed its reverse speed back then and it just felt more sluggish than the T67.

I haven't played the others but the BDR was just buffed so you may wanna try it, and I stayed away from Germans because they tend to be glass cannons and I'd recommend that if you want to start playing light tanks the American line is a very good starter.

The Jumbo is good, but the best combo (I've found) is the heavily armored stock turret and the howitzer.  If you want to play with the fast firing top 76mm, use the Easy 8 (the other T6 US Sherman).

The VK28.01 used to be fun, it had the 105mm derp, now gone as it didn't fit the cookie-cutter light progression of 37-57-76-90 progression.  It's meh now.

The Hellcat is fun, but has little to recommend it over the M36 Jackson.

The BDR with the 90mm is a hoot, because so few people expect it.

The KV-1 is WoT easy mode.  Play it with the top gun, or the 57mm, very different play styles, but both good.

SU-122A is on the frustrating side, even for artillery.

The Duck is great fun, as long as you expect to die horribly and spam premium HEAT.  Had a KV-2 bounce off me twice, so he marched over and 'kicked' me to death.  Yes I died, but it was a hilarious ending for the Duck.

KV-1 is a terrific tank. Good armor + good gun.

Jumbo is situational. Use the stock turret + derp gun or you'll wish you were in the Easy 8.

Hellcat is mobile and has a good top gun, but it takes forever to aim once it comes to a stop and you basically have no armor.

The Duck is not a good tank, but still fun to drive around in heavily armored waterfowl. Carry lots of premium ammo.

Sherman Jumbo is fun, good frontal armor w/ derp 105mm, just make sure to use stock turret because it makes for strong hulldown.

VK28.01 got nerfed, bad.

Hellcat got also nerfed, to the ground. Still decent, but when you have driven the old Hellcat, its a sad sad panda.

BDR, not a keeper. Some say its good w/ 90mm, but I hated it soo much. No armor, tracks all around, no sidescrape, bad gun handling.

KV-1 is a very capable heavy for its tier.

SU-122A, had some decent games in it. But I would pick M41 hMC or Grille instead, they seems to hit more reliably on target.

Duck can be fun, in a platoon, Not good, but fun

Just a few notes people haven't already mentioned:

Don't expect to be able to take any hits in the BDR. It does have some armor, but it isn't reliable. You'll bounce shots, but the moment you rely on it to keep you alive is the moment RNG screws you over and you die pathetically. Consider it a bonus whenever the armor works. The gun on the BDR is awesome.

If you decide to get the T29 from the M4a3e2, save up enough free XP to mount the 90mm gun right away. Playing a tier 7 heavy with a 76mm gun is no bueno, that gun belongs at tier 5. Additionally, you may want to just stay in the T29 for a while. It is currently the best tank of its line, tier for tier. The T32 is pretty garbage, the platform is good (Amazing turret armor, decent hull, OK mobility, great gun depression), but the gun is trash. Mediocre alpha damage, mediocre DPM, bad accuracy, bad handling, and bad penetration. M103 and T110e5 are currently basically just worse versions of Conqerer and Super Conquerer, respectively.

The m4e2 is a heavy re classified as medium, just run stock turret with derp gun and laugh in bounces (even some high tiers). The duck line is totally worth it cause you will get the elc bis a really awesome td. Yep a td. You may think it is a light but with that camo/alpha/gun that's no light that's a td the t67 of French line. Now the hellkitty...that used to be amazing but it was nerfed, is so bad that even the next tank in line is...damn it is just a downgrade, top gun is the same as hellkitty top gun. NOTHING changes. The speed is less. LESS!!! why the hell would I want a slower tank as a next tier tank. I mean if it had a powerful gun it would be OK to have less speed but is the SAME GUN!!! the only upside is that the turret can have some magical bounces, aside from that that tank is crap. I just reached hellcat for strongholds, the entire line is not worth it...

Jumbo - as said, hevium.  Good all around performance.  With that armor, you can take a few hits while your nearby friends kill those shooting you.  You can be a pinata basically.. with a bite.

VK2801 - to much cookie cutter to stand out.  Not the best in terms of maneuvering, but you can still learn some scouting stuff with it.

Hellcat - great vision, great gun.  If this appeals to you, then its a solid vehicle, just like Jackson.  Still has the wheels to relocate (as long as you dont have to put it into reverse)

BDR - underrated heavy.  Solid 90mm gun.  Will take more than a few by surprise.  Not the best gun handling however. It sits a bit tall making it for an easier target, and has very flat sides.

KV-1 - The prototype heavy. Go thru "Heavy Basic Training" with this tank.  All you need to know about heavies you can learn here. Solid in most every way.

Duck - like driving an anvil on wheels.  Slow, cant hurt it, but it cant really hurt others either (short of premium ammo in either case).  Hilarious when a Pz1C tries to kill you !!

What's funny about the duck is I got my one and only raider badge in it. Drove the whole match, shot at some reds at range and solo capped for the win. It was epic. I'd post a replay but the hard drive it was saved on melted down.

I'll comment on the ones I have or played:

Jumbo Sherman: or as I like to call it the "Easy Deuce". play it with the stock turret and 105mm. 2nd tank I got two marks it. LOVE IT.

Hellcat: didn't like it. open top turret makes you very vulnerable to arty. reverse speed is atrocious. Fast on the forward speed. I prefer the Jackson, my 3rd tank I got a two mark.

KV-1: good, solid Russian heavy, but for me the speed is not for me. I quickly went to the KV-1S and prefer that tank much more.

bacon: goes with damn near EVERYTHING. It's nature's candy!

vk used to be good, had long view range, +if you wanted to mount the derp. now i suppose its watered down. not all germans are bunk, better yes to go russ, a few ger 9s are interesting.

The Hellcat, despite the nerfs, is still stupidly fun and capable. Capitalize on camo and 3rd, 2nd line support, and melt face.

That' because in most duck battles, even the driver melts down - due to boredom! ;)
