3 MOEs on my JP with the 105.
I never even considered staying with the 88.

It all depends on your play style. I find I tend to do more damage and earn more credits and XP with the 88mm Pak 43 L/71.
I have a friend who does equally well in the 105mm Pak L/52.

You should be asking about APCR, not HE. The HE rounds are only good if you're trying to kill an arty with more than 320 hp or there's a 30hp heavy tank.

the 88 is a good gun and makes grinding alot easier, but the 105 is the best choice. superior alpha and aim time while having virtually identical DPM to the 88 reduces your expose time to enemy fire. plus 320 alpha is alot better at finishing off tanks, which is something you want to be able to do as a turretless TD.

I tried the 10.5cm L/52 on the JPanther and instantly liked it. Not only does it do more damage than the 8.8 L/71 gun, but it is more accurate than the shorter barrel 10.5cm L/28 barrels on the Hetzer and Stug IIIG.
Dispersion @ 100 meters:
Hetzer with 10.5cm L/28 = .53
Stug IIIG with 10.5cm L/28 = .53
Jagdpanther with 10.5cm PAK L/52 = .34

the 105s on low tier vehicles are Derp Guns anly good and derpy vs. low tiers. 105s on tier 7+ tend to be good guns

Edit: Basically what Firemoth and The_Chieftain said, come to think of it. Still, don't discount that fear factor. It can save your life, once in a while.
