Hello Tankers!

With the introduction to the new Frontline mode we thought we would put together a little contest to help improve everyone’s knowledge and strategies when playing Frontline.  So what is this contest?  Rather than us making a Frontline guide for you guys, we wanted to give that opportunity to the community and offer up some sweet prizes!

This guide should be a basic tactics strategy and map breakdown. Text and/or video entries welcome!

I'll take a swing at this, oh yeah!

I sat on my Wacom Cintiq pen and broke it.  No guide from me now :C . I can post where I got to before that, tho.

I have completed my guide -- but cannot upload it... It is a word document with inserted JPEG Maps... what is the solution??  IMGUR only allows for images to be uploaded....

Copy/paste text, upload JPEG to imgur, insert into your post accordingly using the insert image option (not the upload attachment feature)

Google docs, dropbox, etc is fine.  Just as long as we can download it to review.

Thank you for the help...

I used google docs -- I could not figure out how to load it on IMGUR since it seems to limit the type of uploads by file extension.

Glad to see this contest because Front Line really needs a guide. I like the concept, I like the play, but much of it is truly incomprehensible!  Which way am I supposed to be going? When I am defending; which end is the place I need to be defending? Do the attackers always come from the south, and the defenders always defend the north? Or not? Or am I clueless?
Yeah, we really need some guides - I like the concept, I like much of it, but it would be a lot better if I had some basic idea of what was supposed to be going on!

Ok... lets get this question out of the way: if a person wnters who already owns both T26E5s... what do they get if they win first place.

EDIT: Also its unfortunate that the front line map isnt in the Training Room list...

No, thank you for the guide.  The attack / defense path for each zone are extremely useful.  The map is so large that one could easily lost on where to attack / defend.  I basically had the doc with pics on my other monitor, and quickly read the section I am in.  Before reading the guide, I often got killed too easily because of the flanking shots.  Last night I had much better games using this approach.

I usually only post my Misguided Guides on Reddit as a regular 'humor column' for the community there, but I was directed to this topic here.  I'll link to my post there and also just copy-pasta it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldofTanks/comments/8io6b1/the_misguided_guide_to_front_line_mode/

Hello ladies and gents! I hope you all have had a great week and that I can help usher you into a great weekend with a smile.

As I have said many times in the past while making these guides (or my other posts where I tear certain members of the community new HESH-holes for being [edited]), I need time to observe and notice trends before I can really poke fun at something. I was going to make a Misguided Guide to the 268 v4, but then FLM came out (FLorida Man?) and it seems I had better go with the new hotness.

I've already prestiged once and am up to rank 13 or so on prestige 1. So, without further ado, some of the best homegrown, most dank, kushiest advice to help you mellow out and become one with the Trees on the map.

*****

GENERAL RULES FOR FRONT LINE MODE

  1. The most useful piece of equipment you can mount is the Heavy Spall Liner. With all of the HE, Arty Strikes, and Air-Strikes going on, it will help keep your Progetto immune to all of the hatred focused your way.

  2. Smoke Screen is most useful after a teammate uses the Air-Recon ability. Enshrouding the now spotted enemy means that they can now no longer see your Mauerbrecher sitting in the open on cap.

  3. Engineering is a very powerful skill. Make sure to place it on your Skorpian so you can cap faster.

  4. When on Defense, make sure to hide as far away from each of the caps as you can so you can farm 1-2 shots of damage as you lose each cap in 30 seconds or under.

  5. When on Offense, it is in your best interests to NOT shoot at the Gun Emplacements at the end of the match, as they are unable to shoot back at you, and thus is both a very unsporting and unfair method of winning the match.

ZONE SPECIFIC RULES FOR FRONTLINE MODE

  1. In Zone C, the small overlook/ledge that you have to cross the bridge on the left to get to is best used for impressive goomba-stomps on the enemy forces below.

  2. In Zone D, do not attempt to place your entire defense anywhere than the far north-eastern portion of the zone on that hill that also leads to Zone E. If the attackers had any honor, they wouldn't hide behind the castle walls on the cap, anyway.

  3. When in Zone F, the best strategy to attack is to have your entire team drive to Zone E.

  4. Gun Emplacement 5 is always the most heavily defended. Attackers are advised to never go there.

  5. On defense, having tanks with poor gun depression going to Gun Emplacement 3 is a good idea, as they are only useful as long-range spotters and shouldn't be down in the city brawling.

*****

Once again, I hope that I have helped give you a smile and maybe a small chuckle to help you start out your weekend on a positive, upbeat note!

Also, if you see me in Front Line, can you please ignore me so I can continue to farm damage from you and get General Rank again?
