I would only suggest playing arty to learn it's mechanics and how to defend yourself from it.

Even though it is integrated into the game my personal feeling is it makes a mockery of WoT. How can a single artillery piece shoot and hit a moving target beyond visual range? I know WoT is an arcade game but cheese and rice that's hard to take.

WoT would be a better game without it.

You'll probably find it as engaging as 45 second tier 3 battles.... :P

I think you can by-pass it with "orders", but you're giving up a female crewmember reward.

yes you do, you cant enough orders to bypass an entire section until the last tank.  the Stug and T28, do the SPG missions or you dont get the tank.

I wouldn't recommend it unless you're deliberately trying to farm campaign rewards. Its a shallow gimmick with a skill-ceiling so low that even a quadriplegic could reach it.

This is the only SPGs that should be in the game.

I don't need to look. The answer is YES!

I know I'm in the minority, but arty is my favorite tank because:

1. You can help pretty much any of your team mates from a position of relative safety.

2. You can eat ice cream with two hands while you play.

3. If you do your job right, people on the other team who hate arty get really mad and send you mean messages after the game.

4. You can imagine the people from item 3 in their underwear and bunny slippers and it's really funny.

Depends on the particular one. Slow arty with long reload times (e.g. FV207) are boring and stressful.

Nimble arty with short reload times are a lot of fun (e.g. FV304).
