I’m trying to decide which line to pursue. It has become clear to me that I am garbage in the rhm, and that I thoroughly detest it. I mostly play TDs for the missions, and have decided on armour. I’m open to opinions on other lines too, as I don’t know much about them. I’m not too concerned about the T10s either. I’m not going to be a wanker and go for the v4. I’m leaning toward the T30 due to the turret.

People will call me crazy, but I hate the T30. Turret isn't that great as it can be overmatched or penned by HEAT, and hull is garbage. The gun handling isn't especially bad, but when you miss or bounce a stupid shot (which happens a lot in my experience) it's very frustrating to play. T95 has the same gun, so I'm not really looking forward to that grind either. Give me a DPM TD like the T28 prot or UDES any day.

If you like armour, T95 has tonnes more.

T30 or T95?

The only answer is yes.  Though it's been so long since I've gone up the line I can't recall which one carries the most modules over to the other line (that'd be the most sensible credit and experience saving route)

T28 P has DPM? Since when

The T29 turret has fine armour. Just looked at it again using three-thirty HEAT compare, alot of the turret gives that HEAT a run for its money. The roof overmatch is not that terrible either, since it is tall, much taller than most IS series tanks that hate overmatch

T30 is a T29 with a slower turret and a giant gun.  The T95 is a mobile wall with a giant gun sticking out powered by gerbils (or it feels like it). Both are good, both do different things well.  As for the "tier 10's", the 110E3 is a good TD, pretty slow,  with very good armor a good gun that handles decently.  The 110e4 has bad armor, worse gun handling, is just as slow.. and only really good at dying...  basically any other Tier 9.5 (the only tier 10 vehicle in the game at this time is the 268v4) TD will do a better job at everything.   You pick one.

T30, obviously. It has a turret, T95 doesn't.

I don't think the game has much room for casemate TDs now days, T30 is a weak HT but still somewhat more enjoyable than T95

T95 - the biggest maker of Arty haters

All the tanks mentioned (except for the UDES) are gigantic, hulking, slow monsters. If you want a sneaky TD that is difficult to see and has major pen, go down the Swede line. Once you get to the UDES, you will have to learn about hitting the X key to switch from travel mode to killing mode. But it gets easy after a few times. And if you have some spare cash, the Strv S1 is a great trainer and also a great TD. The Swede tier 8+ TDs can be made to be totally invisible with a BiA crew and full camo training, along with camo paint. You just sit behind a bush and wait for some victim to show up. Then BOOM...you hit him for 800 damage. Or you just disintegrate them with 1 shot.

I've played them both but since I had around 2500 battles in the T34 I was far more comfortable playing the T30. Worth mentioning that I had finished most of the T95 grind before they buffed it.

Go with the T95. I had and continue to have way more success in my T95 than I did in the short time I spent in the T30. It's just more workable in my hands than the T30, as the T30 is really dependent on getting into a hull down position, where as the T95 is the hull down position.

Also if you're looking for DPM in the American TDs, the E3 line tanks get better DPM than the E4 counterparts tier for tier.

That being said, the T110E3 has the best DPM of the American TDs at just over 3,200 DPM (3,206 according to Tanks.gg) with Vents, rammer and BiA and the T28 Standard has the 2nd best DPM at 3,195DPM by the read out in my garage. The T95 fully upgraded actually has better DPM than the T28 Proto for what it's worth.

T95 has more DPM than T28, if you use the mid-tier 12cm gun.

But why would you? The 155 has adequate dpm, and the amount added by using the 120 isn’t worth the loss in alpha for trading power and fear factor.

T95 requires lots of patience, and because it's super slow and has no turret, it's very inflexible. You have to commit to a camping position or tunnel lane early. If you're caught in the open, and don't have support, you'll get flanked and farmed easily. I enjoyed it before I figured out that fast tanks are way more fun and have much better carry potential.

Do you realize that you have a higher win rate, more damage per battle, and a higher average experience per battle in the T30.

And I also have a quarter of the battles in the T30 than I do my T95.

I also played a majority of my battles in the T95 when it could only do 13km/h, probably 650, maybe 700 battles, hard to say. At its peak it, my T95 had 53% win rate before I took a break from the game for over a year. (and if we go off just the numbers, the global win rate has the T95 at almost 3.5% higher than the T30)

I'm sure if I played the T30 now to the same number of battles as the T95, the numbers would probably show that I do better in the T95, backing up what I said. But I rage sold the T30 as it was far to inconsistent for my liking with to many extremes to one end of the performance spectrum when compared to my T95 that has always been consistent in it's performance. Given the choice, I would choose the T95 over the T30 every time.
