Because it is their money and they can spend it how ever they like. If I hadn't just got a 400 grand hospital bill which I have to pay 20 percent of, and just spent the weekend in the hospital after having 2 small heart attacks on back to back days. I would have it in my garage. But for those that can afford it, go buy it if you want.

Stories like this make me insane... I remember when my daughter spent three months in the children's hospital when she was thirteen; she had brain surgery and rehab therapy and I and/or my wife were living there with her for almost 14 weeks... and when all was said and done, my out of pocket costs amounted to the parking I had to pay (bought monthly passes @ $40/month) and the food we bought at the hospital cafeteria... I never saw a bill or an account statement or anything like that from the hospital... socialized medicine; how civil societies deal with health care...

OT, I think the weird KV-2 is too expensive (for me) but anyone who wants one bad enough will no doubt pony up... and good on 'em... support my favourite game please...

Apparently OP doesn't know as single thing about Games Workshop, if they had their way the KV2 would be $80 for the base package considering how expensive the miniatures are.

Just for comparison (looking from Canada):

  • KV-2 R (Tier 6, with BIA crew): $42.83
  • IS-2 Berlin (Tier 7, with BIA crew): $32.75
  • ISU-122S Berlin (Tier 7, with BIA crew): $30.23
  • 59-Patton (Tier 8, no BIA crew or cammo): $42.83

Whilst you get more crew members with the KV-2 R, that does rather look like gouging to me...

I'm still tempted, but the pricing is rather taking the pi$$; if you're a newbie, and short of premiums, there are plenty of better choices.

I am genuinely curious if you understand that premium tanks earn credits (and KV-2R will never need premium shells) and can be used to train crews or just to put crews in. I.E. Training up that 0skill BIA, which will take much less time than other crews. Or, putting crews from other tanks into it without needing to keep a dedicated KV-2 crew for when you want to derp around

All the other tier 6 premium tanks have the same perks.  Well, other than having a tier 8 price tag.

He’s just on a budget...

Those strapped for cash commonly have to put down others.

This place is dumb and you’re dumb for going. Translation: I can’t afford to be here

People who buy luxury sports cars are stupid. Transalation: I could never afford the payment

You get the idea.

Sad, but true. It’s one thing to say, the premium tank isn’t worth it as a matter of opinion. Definitely another thing when they are compelled to look down on others who don’t agree and will purchase something they would not. Envy masked with superiority or just outright misplaced perception of superiority. In either case, he obviously thinks respect for others decisions are for suckers too and apparently, he can’t afford even that.

So because you don't budget you put others down?  Seems rather hypocritical...

Not a good representation I suppose, but yesterday I was in a battle with two of them on my team. I was curious to see what their results would be, especially since one was XVM green and the other teal. We were on Lakeville and they went charging into town, and both got blown to pieces rather quickly without doing any damage. I was a bit surprised. I checked their games count and both were over 20k. So I assumed they both already had the regular KV-2 and had some idea how to play it. Maybe it was a long time since they used one, but that big gun only works good when you stay alive to use it. :)

Looks horrible. Purely aimed at appealing to 12 year old's.

I wouldn't let a 12 year old near my armies.

Those are US prices. There are no NA prices.

Canada is part of NA and the price in Canada for the KV-2R is as Verblonde stated $42.83.

I am aware of all that, hence why I mentioned the prices of all the other tanks that come with BIA crews being much cheaper.  The value of not having to keep those extra 6 crew around to derp with is $10 then I really wish I could sell some crew members and barracks slots for actual money, would make a fortune.

Why should anyone pay $33.99 (let alone the ridiculous $79.99 package) for a tier 6 premium when you can get one of 3 TIER 8 premium tanks for the same price?  Super Pershing, FV4202, M4A1 Revalorisé are all the same price.  So, why is it so much?

If ya enjoy playing a slow loading russian derp gun  that is slow, then buy it.  Its like a su100y with a turret, but shoots high damage HE.

Only other reason, like sherman fanatics, that will buy any kind of sherman tank cuz they cant help themselves, this is for warhammer 40k fans.  it has a cool paint job.

You are the mailed fist of the emperor!!!!!

Why is the price so high?

1. Probably have to split the proceeds with Games Workshop as part of the Warhammer collab.

2. Between 40k fanatics and KV-2 lovers, they know enough people will pay that much.

A typo on my part.  I wanted to add the US prices to his Canada price list to give a better overall idea.  Thanks for geography lesson though, I though Canada was in Asia.

Fistly I do need to state that I do have a KV2 already but still tempted to purhcase this just because it's premium and it will allow training of crew types that my Defender does not have. Secondly, IT'S a KV2, just fun to derp around once in awhile when one gets sick and tired of [edited]MM at tier 8.

I'm not poor, I can afford 33$ to support a game I (almost) like.

Actually it didn't.  It was just sold in bundles and didn't have the tank on its own (one of their earlier premium tank tricks that I'm glad seems to have gone away), $30 for the tank and 2500 gold.  I'm interested in knowing what the credit sale price is of the KV-2 R to see how much gold it's actually worth.

For anyone wondering, the gold value is 4200 which is only $20.14.  Great value!

love the KV-2 so much i bought the premium for the extra credits it can grind.

I've made at least a million in mine so far where the tech tree version would have returned 2 schillings back...lol

My comment went right over your head...

When you have money who needs brains? It even works for being a game show host or a president.

I spend money on this game but I dont like feeling ripped off. Thats my problem with WG who are really just a glorified art school with little decent programming to show 20 years in the business.

The other problem I have with WG pricing model is its so elite only the cream and the whales buy in. For game sustainability I would like to see more reasonable pricing so more players are invested in the game. The WG level of cash and grab greed is vulgar and does not lend itself to longevity. Things are indeed shady  when you choose to move your head office to Cyprus.
