All the people crying about the price are welfare warriors.......

I wanted a derp premium tank so I bought it.....end of story

It's not about welfare warriors, its about people like you confirming to WG that it's ok to sell a tier 6 tank at tier 8 prices.

After reading the replies there is nothing justifying the cost.  WG has done tanks with themes from other companies in the past and the price was on par with other tanks at the tier and class and 0 skill crews have always been free.

Games Workshop killed off an entire beloved universe (Warhammer Fantasy Battle) in order to make money off the creation of a new one (Age of Sigmar) that would render the figurines collected for WH obsolete. I think you are severely underestimating their greed.

Because you're actually buying a tech tree tank that has premium benefits. I never thought I'd see the day. We've seen tech tree tanks become premiums, sure. But not side by side in existence. Not a justification of price, but just chalked it up as part of my Paypal Posse membership fee.

Not sure I follow?

At the end of the day World of Tanks has nothing to do with Games Workshop or Warhammer 40k and Games Workshop's greed doesn't have anything to do with the price of the tank.  WG sets the final price and if they screwed themselves in the contract that's not the WoT player base fault.  Expect premium tanks to increase in price if this tank sells.

Pretty close, but not a mirror of a tech tree tank at all. KV-2 is 100% equal to the KV-2 R. In fact, if you remove the Ragnarok skin which you can, no one could tell the difference besides the name. In addition, it's categorized as non-historic. So, anyone that has the option selected not to see non-historic skins will see a normal tech tree KV-2. bummer

WG has to pay something for the rights to make these tanks.  So Games Workshop does have possible price impact.  Without knowing the contract details we can only guess where one company's greed begins and another one's ends.  We all know this is over-priced, thats pretty obvious.  But lets say for example WG was like 'We're not going to have the art team work on this unless we're going to get at least $25 bucks a pop.  If the cost of using the 40k creative property is 25% of the revenue then boom, over 30.  Anything that is themed off another franchise is going to have that price impact.  Fury cost more than its counterparts as well.

I don't think anyone isn't saying its more expensive than it ought to be.  At that price its not a good deal.  WG is a bit newish in the cosmetics market too.  They're trying to figure out how to make the most off these visuals.  Like the black window preset in the garage is also way over priced imo.  Hopefully they bring the costs for cosmetics down to a more reasonable level.

GW most certainly did have a hand in this pricing. I've been use ot their shenanigans for many years. I can easily see them demanding it be marked up as a way off making it more elite or desirable; in their thinking. They are kings at this kind of crap over the past few years and it iss a growing problem within their own games.

Watched quicky's video on it as the only reason to watch his channel is to get good comparisons on stats on a tank compared to others and he mentions that the tank is a exact copy stat wise and the prem camo does not increase the camo rating, you would have to remove the camo and put regular camo to get a bonus . Wonder if war gaming will make a update to said camo to give a boost.

Why not?  I can turn that off with a click.  Can't turn off defenders or other power crept premiums.  :P

Cosmetics are vastly healthier for a game than things that impact game balance.  I always thought it would have been great to rent/sell the WGL camo's that the pro teams had.  They looked cool and it would generate interest in league....You know... before they killed it...

Or just drop the price about 9 bucks.  I think $25 all things considered would have been in a good neighborhood.  I don't know the details of their arrangement with GW, but I'm probably a pass on it at current price, but I'd be sorely tempted for below 25.

Actually it didn't.  It was just sold in bundles and didn't have the tank on its own (one of their earlier premium tank tricks that I'm glad seems to have gone away), $30 for the tank and 2500 gold.  I'm interested in knowing what the credit sale price is of the KV-2 R to see how much gold it's actually worth.

Well yeah.  Its the bundles they claim justify prices.  I mean they're charging 10 bucks for a tier 5 visual, its 900 gold to just add 'worn' effect to a tank, etc.   12 bucks for the 2500 gold on a tank with like 10 similar sherman variants, 15 bucks for 6 zero skill bia crew with first release of kv-2 variant (on top of standard $18 tier 6 cost)....  Anyone number crunch the 'value' of a single zero skill crew member?  I mean realistically pixel tanks probably all cost the same to make, so why not argue that its outrageous to charge 50 bucks for tier 8 heavies and $12 for tier 5s?  Its basically all an artificially created market lol.  We really can only hope for less packaging in the future, but I highly doubt it will happen.

The point more or less is that with how they operate today a zero skill bia crew'd disney princess themed 4202 wouldn't cost $35, it would be 60 or w/e.  So you can't really ask why this costs the same as a stand-alone tier 8 medium with a serious face.  Do I agree with the business practice? no.  Do I agree with you its over-priced? yes.

You're right in the fact that the cost some of the tier 8 tanks, of say a Lowe, are also pretty ridiculous.  Especially when they also offer premium accounts.  The price of premium tanks has been set for a long time and unfortunately it is what it is.  However, with this KV-2 they are essentially raising the price of a tier 6 tank by over 50%.  The base bundle offers nothing else of value.  You get the crew and garage slot which have historically always been free.

Stays up to date with WoT news, buys tanks, and replies to threads while at "work".  I think I found the real welfare warrior.
