You're right in the fact that the cost some of the tier 8 tanks, of say a Lowe, are also pretty ridiculous.  Especially when they also offer premium accounts.  The price of premium tanks has been set for a long time and unfortunately it is what it is.  However, with this KV-2 they are essentially raising the price of a tier 6 tank by over 50%.  The base bundle offers nothing else of value.  You get the crew and garage slot which have historically always been free.

Well the crew isn't a free crew (100% no skills at best) to be at least a little fair.  Still curious if anyone has figured out the avg. value of individual zero skill bia crew members.  That'd help identify exactly how disproportionately priced this is.  If the average zsbia crew member costs 2 bucks, then while I still don't think its good value, its actually not outside they're usual pricing parameters.  I feel like they've slowly crept along this path to get to this point in pricing, so I'm not really shocked by it or taken by surprise.  I only argue that this is pretty much how WG works these days.  I am in no way arguing against your points with regards to value.

Probably not very practical to determine the value of a single BIA crew member because, they vary from tank bundle to bundle.

We'll figure it out for this one though.

BIA is built in and the second skill slot is treated as the first.

We know that the first skill takes 42,012 EXP to reach 100% and doubles for every additional skill perk.

So let's work opposite of that and divide 42,012 EXP by 2

Theoretically, 21,006 exp for the crew member that comes with BIA.

If we take the exchange rate of exp conversion it's 1 gold for 25 exp

Again, theoretically 840 gold to free xp 21,006.

Roughly $4.74 or 840 gold per crewman (any amount of gold option)

Roughly $3.86 or 840 gold per crewman (6,500 gold bundle option)

5,040 gold for a crew of 6

or

$28.44 for a crew of 6 (using the any amount of gold option)

$23.18 for a crew of 6 (using the $29.79 for 6,500 gold bundle option)

That's one way to figure it I guess.

But the reality is, the BIA crew is supposed to be free with the tank since current premium tank bundles like the IS2 is roughly in line with other tier 7's without BIA (less really). So it's the skin.

It is probably so much because it would have taken some time to make the skin plus they had to pay Games Workshop for the license to make 40k tanks (whether or not they had to pay additional for this KV-2 is debatable since they released 40k tanks on SEA and console, I believe) and Games Workshop is incredibly incredibly greedy.

Pretty much this Wargaming probably making 10 to 15 dollars while Games Workshop walks off with the rest. The skin is Offical GW copyrighted work and used in their printed materials for Imperial Guard army book. which use to cost 25 dollars now like 50 cause GW.

If you want a price break down of Warhammer 40,000 model kits for the game specifically imperial guard.

Imperial guard squad when i started use to be 25 dollars and you get 20 guys this has changed to 10 guys for 35 dollars

tanks use cost 35 to 45 depending on what the model is the price is now 45 on low end and 70 to 80 on high end depending on what the model is.

Games Workshop likes money  a lot so this doesn't surprise me when Wargamming made this skin

Why should anyone pay $33.99 (let alone the ridiculous $79.99 package) for a tier 6 premium when you can get one of 3 TIER 8 premium tanks for the same price?  Super Pershing, FV4202, M4A1 Revalorisé are all the same price.  So, why is it so much?

$39.99 doesn't mean the same thing to everybody.

How come the high price?

Games Workshop license.

They aren't cheap.

I mentioned their name a few times today, I'm expecting a bill from them soon.

For the same price I could rebuy the Rudy twice to get 8 crewmen, 2 garage slots, and enough Gold for a tier 8 premium when they run a discount.

Watched quicky's video on it as the only reason to watch his channel is to get good comparisons on stats on a tank compared to others and he mentions that the tank is a exact copy stat wise and the prem camo does not increase the camo rating, you would have to remove the camo and put regular camo to get a bonus . Wonder if war gaming will make a update to said camo to give a boost.

His reviews of tanks are top notch, except for the Nameless and Edelweiss. Sadly those two tanks received an incredibly biased review that still trigger him whenever they're brought up in his chat. He happily calls the Nameless overpowered, but yet this thing has the 5th lowest winrate at 47% (spot 33 out of 38) for heavy tanks at tier 8. And on top of that it has one of the lowest damaged dealt AND blocked. Meaning that the 'overpowered armor' he cried about really isn't all that good, he was just seeing how people reacted to a new tank on day 1 of release and nothing more (aka not knowing its weakpoints).

I will just laugh at anyone dumb enough to buy one. kv2=a few days of grinding yet people are gonna pay t8 premium prices for it.  If somebody just wanted the skin that bad I'm sure somebody who makes tank skins could do that.

BIA crew is worth something but just look at Cromwell b, rudy, etc prices and this is much more.  That means almost all the extra cost is licensing most likely unless WG felt like they could scam suckers  get a few extra bucks out of us.

BIA crews are worth ~$5 if you count their value in free exp.

their practical value is even higher when used as commanders.

I am genuinely curious if you understand that premium tanks earn credits (and KV-2R will never need premium shells) and can be used to train crews or just to put crews in. I.E. Training up that 0skill BIA, which will take much less time than other crews. Or, putting crews from other tanks into it without needing to keep a dedicated KV-2 crew for when you want to derp around

Looks horrible. Purely aimed at appealing to 12 year old's.

12 year olds. Yes, 40k’s biggest demographic.

Try again.

He’s just on a budget...

Those strapped for cash commonly have to put down others.

This place is dumb and you’re dumb for going. Translation: I can’t afford to be here

People who buy luxury sports cars are stupid. Transalation: I could never afford the payment

You get the idea.

Sad, but true. It’s one thing to say, the premium tank isn’t worth it as a matter of opinion. Definitely another thing when they are compelled to look down on others who don’t agree and will purchase something they would not. Envy masked with superiority or just outright misplaced perception of superiority. In either case, he obviously thinks respect for others decisions are for suckers too and apparently, he can’t afford even that.
