What would be nice (and probably generate more $$$$ For WG) is if we could flag an elite tank as a premium for a fee. There would be less time and money having to spend modeling tanks. Say you really like the Chaffee and you have it elited, pay WG a fee (based on tier level) and BAM, the tank is now premium.

I like the idea.

TBH, I'd be happy if my crews just remembered how to drive the previous tanks they were trained for.  It kills me that you train a Churchill I crew to drive a Churchill VII and they act like a bunch of new recruits if they get back in the Churchill I.  I understand why WG did this (to get us to spend more money on crews, and to add a minor strategic element to crew selection), but I hate how it punishes me for playing old tech tree tanks.

Being able to convert a tech tree tank to premium would fix this problem.   And I guess there's also a compromise step: let me pay to turn a tech tree tank into a "reward" tank -- which lets me use my crews at 100% without retraining, but doesn't give me a bonus on XP and credits.  Or even, let me pay to train my crew in multiple tanks.   Instead of 200g to retrain them for the new tank, let me pay 300g to learn the new tank and still remember the old ones.  I might even go 400g for that --- free money, WG!

One thing AW did once you elited a tank was that you could spend extra gold to make it quasi-premium. (Can't remember what they called it.)

Doing so would give you an XP & credit boost to a regular tech tree tank.

If you're someone who DOESN'T spend money on this game, you WANT this option. As it's much better than a constant stream of new PTW tank-of-the-month.

As someone who does spend money, I want this SO much.

There's so many tanks I just don't play because they're not premium, and honestly the PTW power creep is getting silly. *cough* Cent 5/1 *cough*.

Thing is ... barring the expense of course, who wouldn't want a premium tech tree tank?  Even if the stats were exactly the same ... the premium benefits would make it a superior choice if considering a 'keeper' Imagine the exp and credit compounding by using the same crew for a range of tanks ... for those 2x/3x/5x times?

Exactly.

OK, assume that you can only Premium the tank once you've Elited (fully researched) it.  So you can't buy a new tank, premium it, and then get a 50% bonus on researching its modules.  No bootstrapping.

So after you've elited the tank you have a choice to Premium it or not.  If you like the tank and want to keep playing it later, you spend the money.  If you don't like it, just sell it and forget about it.

As far as the XP/credit "compounding" you mention... I think most players already have more premium tanks than they can play daily, even for 5X weekends.  I certainly do.  So being able to turn my Hellcat into a premium isn't going to let me earn more; it's just going to let me enjoy more variety as I'm doing it.  Instead of playing my Scorpion every day, I can play the Hellcat sometimes without throwing away XP and credits.

Even better.  Personally for me, I don't have a whole lot of tanks to begin with given how long I've been with the game ... so I tend to concentrated on crew 'families' of vehicles ... this way, I'll max out experience and earnings for fewer games.  As for your enhancement ideas, I see them as being value added and definitely worth WG's attention .. hint ... hint ... lurking forum monitors ... :D

Really? Really?

Here's a third "Really" for you. Really. I haven't the foggiest notion what the new KV-2R represents and REALLY couldn't care less. Most ADULTS I know have no idea what the new tank represents either.

Well considering that it’s licensed content from a game whose player-base hangs around an average age of 30, your attempted slight is not just unnecessary, but also totally baseless. You don’t like the new skins? Don’t buy them.

It comes from Warhammer 40,000.   Their tanks are apparently based on the premise that tank design reached its epitome around 1930, and everything after that was an evolutionary dead end.   All the tanks (and other miniatures, for that matter) are in a cartoonish style, bristling with oversized guns and with a retro Steampunk-ish appearance.  The Ragnarok KV-2 is actually quite mild compared to their other stuff:

Holy crap. So this new tank is based on an itty bitty TOY TANK? WG really has sunk to a new low. And I have to wonder about any adults playing with tiny tanks.  Well if this is the case, I expect little girl anime voices to be the next major release. Maybe a Pershing with all-pink camo and a female anime character painted on the side. Yep...WG has sunk to an all new low. :(

A lot more people play slot machines. That would be more appropriate for WOT than little bitty toy tanks.

There are probably many other tech tree tanks people would buy if sold as a premium. If you sold the hellcat as a  premium I would buy it immediately.

What other tier 5-8 tech tree tanks would people buy if an exact copy was sold as a premium?

I would also buy the hellcat if it was a premium but only if it was the hellcat from long ago.

And god bless him for saying the Churchill Gun Carrier.

Every player should own one to greater appreciate tanks that aren't total dumpster fires. :P

I'd be happy with "premium" skins that just let you play the tank with other crews and gave better crew training, even with no credit income boost. There's a bunch of tanks I'd have kept if I could have slapped a "premium" skin on them just to have them around to play, but I ended up moving the crews up because I don't want to play a T9 with a 0-skill crew.

...What?

I would be fine with them making a premium version of any tier 6 tank in the game.  Doesn't bother me.

Well I guess it depends on your interests. I'm 52 and I know exactly what it represents even though I've never been involved with 40K though I did play WAR for a few months.
