Claus Kellerman had some good ideas about the mode - making it much more playable.
Though, honestly, they need to make some changes to the rank gain - in particular rewarding spotting, tanking hits, and assisting rather than the unikampers sitting in bushes farming damage but *NOT* helping the team whatsoever.

It's fun as hell. It they keep it and keep it as is, I'd likely only play my Tier VIII tanks there and play lower tiers in pubbies.

I think you are underestimating the value of a decent TD for resets or for keeping tanks from getting resets.  May not be the most dynamic play style, but it is effective.  Plus your signature literally has a Hellcat victory with sniper badge....just saying.

I'm inclined to agree concerning tier 10 - leave them to clan battles and strongholds.  Tier 10s on a map this size would devolve solely to mobility tanks alone.  Could you imagine trying to get a 110E3 or Type 5 from A all the way to the northern objective???

As for the lower tiers - I think frontline should be available from 4 to 9 - but with one limit:  Player must have 1k battles under their belt.

Yeah, Boelters on Province back in its original form, which says a lot about both the vehicle (before its nerfs) and the map (before it's recent re-introduction).

And I'm not discounting the value of TDs in keeping the cap clear or keeping defenders at bay - but when 90% of those assets are in bush kamping positions by purple players *far* beyond render range on the edges of the zone it does nothing but give them ranks while their 'team' gets slaughtered.  That needs to be addressed - IMO the flanks of each zone need to be made into corridor areas (with the ability to move from the zones to either side as well) with the 'open' areas being somewhat limited to the center of each zone.  This will encourage spotting forward for vehicles *behind* (rather than to either side) the spotters to assault or defend and move toward the enemy.  Currently everyone just creeps up either flank of the zone and the middle is left unspotted (because the moment a 'spotter' sees anything they're similarly spotted - and vaporized instantly).

OP, your maps question shows clear bias that you think the map is too open and allows unspotted tanks to hit you, and you don’t like that. IMO that’s part of what makes the mode great. People who push in the open without checking their flanks are punished, and TDS can do well.

As as far as ranks, it’s xp based, and scout damage only makes 50% xp. Kill someone who has 50 cap points and you gain an entire rank.

Yes - it has me driving my Tier 8's again.

And its the only safe place to grind the Tiger 2 and have some chance of having a good game.

IF "helping the team" is the goal then there needs to be some way to address the ability to "shift" players from one vertical zone to another.  This will particularly be necessary if/when enlarged platoons become available.  Quite a few battles i've seen one side (usually attackers) swell up to around 15 players and the defenders drop to 5 or 6.  Ok, SOME shifting is fine, but either maybe not quite so much or at least better notification to all players that battle focus has shifted.  I guess there is a "hard limit" but it SEEMS to apply to the TOTAL number of tanks in a sector regardless of size.

I think heavies mediums should be allowed 2 combat reserves, only one "offensive" in nature.  Lights, TD's and artillery can stay as they are.

As to other Tiers...yes, but perhaps only Tier VII and IX.  Leave Clan Wars to Tier X and Tier's IV, V, and VI can have Strongholds.

And really...this is matter of behavior...this mode isn't really a combat caller kind of environment, i do wish that some players would resist the urge to tell others what to do and berate them when they don't.  It wouldn't be so bad if it were JUST ONE player...but sometimes it's two or three self-appointed "battle callers".

9's can cut tier 8's to shreds. Keep it single tier

Yeah me too. Loving my Skorpion and Obj 252U, which I don't always love when I'm MM -2.

I think this tier makes the most sense because Wargamer sells so many Tier 8 premiums. Increased revenue stream for them and good place for us to use them.

I haven't played it much either - maybe 10 games (I play mostly before work, which is also before FL fires up).

But I think my lack of map knowledge is what makes it fun. React to the situation at hand. What is the terrain? Where are the enemies? Where's my team? Where's concealment and cover? Total situational awareness. The huge map and large teams makes it really fun, IMHO.

Yes this is how we should all play pubbies but when you've seen the same map 500 times it's easy to get in the same routine of playing the same old usual spots on the map.

Novelty mode wastes time from what the WG programers should be doing.Improving the base game. A distraction to keep the masses happy. "Bread and Circuses"

You seem to be missing the fact that the mode is about the only way to not be down tiered in an 8.  It’s a really nice break from that.  The vast majority seem to enjoy it, so it’s likely to stick around.  Would like to see it show up in other tiers as well.  Single tier is best, not down towering tanks.

I'm for keeping it "seasonal", as in not a constant condition and vary the tiers from time to time.  Seasonal so it doesn't get too stale and tier varying for the same reason.

Your poll is messed up. If we vote NO to the first question, we should NOT be voting in the rest.

Can't keep it, could possibly  mess with the mm in the range of 7s and 8s regularly. And little population makes it hard, however if it was like a grand battle type of deal, would be better.

I haven't had this much fun in WoT in a while.

Thing is on Vulcan, the game would be impeccably logical and accurate, and we'd all be playing on top notch high performance machines that are maintained ... unfortunately this is Earth, so very little of that applies locally.  :D
