Where is on this site telling you about processor Intel i7 Gen.8th? It says just "Unprecedented power and responsiveness, paired with easy, built-in security of the Intel® Core™ i7 processors, means you can work, play, and create as quickly and seamlessly as your heart desires".

My god. Look at the bottom right. There's a BIG obvious blue square. Please look.

I wish you are right. A WG staff from EU branch told in their forum that the CPU will be i7 7700k.

The contest rules only say, "Extra prize: Intel® Core™ i7 processor Value is $340 USD. (The price may vary in different jurisdictions). "

Which could be the i7-8700/k if you go by market prices, if you go by MSRP the i7-7700k is closer to the listed value.

Also on the EU forum on of the mods posted that it was a i7-7700k.   http://forum.worldof..._st__60#topmost

Msrp i7-7700k $339-350, i7-8700 $303-312, i7-8700k $359-370

I really hope it is the 8th gen but i'm waiting to buy anything till I have the processor in hand.

By the way the blue box on the website is i7 7th generation like 7700k.

Then how come it says 8th generation... (EXPERIENCE WITH Intel Core i7 8th gen) Either that's an oversight or false advertising? If it happens to be a 7700k, I'll just refund my motherboard and purchase a new one. No harm in that.

May be they are going to do for example: for the 2d to 10 place - i7 8700k, next 11 to 50 place - i7 8700, 51 to 100 - i7 7700k, and the rest - i7 7700?

That's actually a pretty interesting idea, but it still wouldn't explain the intel stamp saying i7 8th gen. Perhaps they'll give top 100 i7 8700k, while the rest receive the regular 8700?

I wish they will give us i7 of 8th generation any 8700 version. i7 of 7th gen. is already old.

I've sent in multiple tickets and it seems as if WG is specifically ignoring these kinds of tickets. No reply at all in over four days.

I actually got this message today in response to a recent ticket:

Hello This_Is_A_Bad_Game,

I apologize for the delayed response, our office was closed yesterday for Memorial Day.

Unfortunately we do not know exactly when the chips will ship as Intel is handling the prize fulfillment for this event directly. Since Intel has now received the player information, they may be able to assist through their support but I am uncertain if their customer support team will have any connection to their prize fulfillment team.

In regards to the processor that is being shipped, we have not specified what generation the processors will be in our contest rules or any other documentation. You can find the exact wording for the prizing at the bottom of our contest rules here
http://legal.na.wargaming.net/en/grand-extravaganza-marathon-rules/?_ga=2.241087875.1650227230.1527611345-1654834669.1523653356. The part in question will be Part B Section 4 which states:

4. Prizes
Prizes which will be awarded within the MARATHON are provided as part of Intel Trophy Leadeboard:

First Prize:
Alienware 17-inch gaming laptop with an Intel® Core™ i7 processor
Value is 3,299.99 USD. (The price may vary in different jurisdictions).
Organizer shall award four First Prizes to each best Participant selected on each of four clusters (EU, CIS, NA, APAC).

Extra prize:
Intel® Core™ i7 processor
Value is $340 USD. (The price may vary in different jurisdictions).
Organizer shall award 1 000 Extra Prizes to 250 Participants selected on each of four clusters (EU, CIS, NA, APAC).
First Prizes and Extra Prizes will be delivered by Intel Corporation (2200 Mission College Blvd. Santa Clara, CA 95052) to the winners by July 1, 2018.

While this prize value does fall in line with both 8th and 7th Gen processors the value of the processors can change depending on which region they are going to. Exact prizing may come down to what Intel can ship to players within the given price point.

Have a great day!

I don't remember the prices of Intel CPU in April 2018. But according with the value of $340 there are two choices: i7 8700 or i7 7700k. The closest to the $340 is i7 7700k. The price for i7 8700k was higher then $340 in April.

Well honestly, I'm ok with either. It's just kind of disappointing if they don't send us a nice juicy 8700k. My current PC is from 2011, so its still better.

Is it just me or is the list of winners no longer up on the event site?

My PC is almost from the same year) CPU is i5 3750k (@4,2GHz). I think it will not give me noticeable more power if I change my old CPU to i7 7700k. It will better effect changing it at least for i7 8700.

I reached out to Intel on twitter a couple months ago and got this response:

it's been stated on the EU forum by a WG rep as well, I just wish it was more up front with this info, also, I wish they would put the names out that haven't replied yet, could be one of us reading the thread or it could be a buddy in game that we could tell them to get their butts in gear.
