Why wasnt this event announced MONTHS ago?! A lot of players arent gonna be able to make it on such short notice.

You're right, WG could have posted about this earlier, but it's not WG's event, although I guess they're a sponsor.  The event happens every year and is put on by the Ontario Regiment's museum.

The museum DOES have other tank days each year.  You can see a calendar here:  http://www.ontrmuseum.ca/events.htm

Here are my 5, in no particular order:

1. T-72. You have got to respect this faithful warhorse of the eastern bloc.

2. ADATS.. No pokey ATGM - At Mach 3, this missile gets there in a hurry.

3. LAV-M or Armored Mortar System. Turreted 120mm mortar usable in indirect and direct fire modes. A pretty handy concept in service with the Saudis.

4. Panzer III Ausf. J.+ Love that classic panzer look.

5. Panzer 38(t) because it is nicely proportioned and was one of the first models I built.

I'm about an hour away so I can definitely make it to the event.

I'm only 90 minutes away, and am considering going anyway. :)

My five tanks:

Luchs (so darn cute!)

Leopard (neighbour used to drive them in CAF)

STRV 103B (so awesomely weird but good!)

IS-7 (prototypical Russian heavy, great hull shape)

King Tiger (to show how awesome WWII German military might could be, even if it was totally impractical and slow)

(and, bonus, a RAM II, for Canadian Content. :) )

I would have a Canadian collection:

FT1 (M1917)

RAM II

M4 Sherman (called a Grizzly in Canadian Army)

Centurion Mk5

Leopard 1

Best part is that a short bike/bus ride takes me to see this tank collection at the Canadian War Museum here in Ottawa.  Ottawa is only a 4hr drive from the Aquino tank weekend so I intend on going with my 15 year old son.  I hope to see some of you there.
