The Object 726: Soviet Durability on Four Tracks

Hey Tankers!

What’s brand new, really huge, and rolling on all fours? The Object 726, a Soviet Tier X heavy which is going up on Supertest today.

It looks fresh and unusual, with the entire hull being carried on four tracks that make up the entire underbelly The designers of the Object 726 wanted it to traverse difficult terrain with ease, with the added bonus of looking pretty awesome.

The four tracks don't just give this vehicle a unique appearance; This also means it has some pretty interesting characteristics. There is no lower glacis plate, as the tracks take up this space. On the other hand. since all the tracks are below the hull, they don't give the vehicle any additional protection on the sides in the form of spaced armor.

Second, the gun carried by the 726 is silky smooth compared to what your typical Soviet Tier X has at its disposal. It has excellent aim time, good stabilization, and boasts an excellent DPM of 2750 (not counting the Crew and Equipment bonuses). We will be paying close attention to see if the gun is over-performing during this round of testing.

The Object 726 has great frontal protection; despite all its quirks and exotic appearance it should still play as a classic Soviet frontline heavy. The 726 can handle such tasks as breaking through the enemy defensive lines, holding ground, and dealing with heavily armored adversaries.

The primary drawbacks of the vehicle are very limited mobility to account for its other characteristics, as well as a limited gun depression angle of -5 degrees.

As this is the first stage of testing, the Object 726 stats may change in the future. We may even re-think its combat role.

Stay tuned, and good luck on the battlefield!

Multi-track is a good feature,

kindly add the long waited multi-turret feature in "NEAR" future

Wow.  another Russia Tier 10 heavy.  Much Excite.  How about working on some other nations for once?

And for that matter, where is the final drive and transmission supposed to be on this tank?  The place that traditionally takes up is filled with tracks.

Four tracks requires multiple logs comrade. ;)

Thanks for the feedback, folks! Will be sure to pass it on. (Perhaps drive and transmission were replaced with a flux capacitor? Tanks sort of looks like it belongs on an episode of the Jetsons ;) )

For some reason I imagine the entire tank just being covered in logs :teethhappy:

brokenly over armored tier 10s in tiny, funnel maps are whey people don't want to play tier 8, why they do want to sparingly play pref tier 8s, and why they love frontline.

your developers should really try playing the game, even with a premium account, to understand just how frustrating you guys are making the game...  instead of muddling around a tiny bit in super test, regular test, etc.

The only new Russian I want to see is one where there are no other higher tier premiums in class - give us the 44 lightweight. Every other nation with higher tier light tanks now has a premium at tier VII or VIII.

I recognize that mine is just one voice on the NA server (redheaded stepchild), but I'm certain there are plenty of RU players that want it too.

Come on, this should be a no brainer.

This looks like a cool tank to be honest. It worries me though that there are tracks right in front of where the lower plate armor is, so heat would not work there. The upper plate looks super good and the side armor is angled. It basically looks like a 907 scaled up but with 4 tracks.

There could be some serious balancing issues with the unique armor.

So basically a T110E5 with better armor, better DPM, higher speed, no weakpoints (as of yet) and with the simple drawback of a -5º gun depression. Yeah, that sounds pretty fair...

One small piece of advice for WG. In the future, instead of starting tests with an over-the-top tank. Start by putting in a "slightly underpowered" machine. Then as the tests go on, upgrade the machine. People respond better to improvements over time than nerfs.

Life isn't fair.  If America wants to have a competitive advantage in World of Tanks, maybe they should have thought of that and designed some better tanks.

so do you get tracked if any of the 4 are hit, or only if one of the outer 2 are?

EDIT: So if I'm understanding this right, Any shot into the tracks, unless it's HE, will never do damage? Since all tracks are below the hull that means if you shoot them all you're hitting is more tracks. Or are the inner 2 tracks included in the hitbox of the tank for whatever reason.

Oh, I can't care less about the American tanks vs the Russian tanks. I'm talking about how to run tests of new vehicles. WG seems to like putting over-the-top vehicles into supertests (while releasing the info for everyone to see), which then leads to lots of people hammering WG about how the newest tank is OP, followed by youtube videos of community contributors confirming the forum statements, which inevitably end with WG nerfing the vehicle (while taking a PR hammering).

Instead, if they put slightly underpowered vehicles into supertests, then the forums will be filled with more critiques on how to make the tank more competitive with the established vehicles (which will hopefully keep things balanced). As a result, once the tank gets buffed a bit here and there, the public response will be much more positive.

You should build the American M-199: A turret from an Iowa class battleship carried around by four M-103s. Balance comrades!

This thing is dumb and the last thing we need in a corridor centric map meta.  Another lol-armor, lol-gun heavy.  Good times.

I'm sure the 90mm of rear armor makes it balanced.  Totally.

On the real 4-track designs, the two "fins" that mounted the tracks contained the fuel tanks. Those fins should be part of the hit box unless this is just another doodle sketch.
