I seriously don't know what WG expects of me as a bottom tier heavy.

Not enough penetration as a 50% crew stock tank.

Other tanks have more than enough alpha to make my HP pool look like a joke.
Gold rounds overmatching side scraping, what the [edited]is the point?
Not enough view range(or speed for that matter) to go out into the open to scout.

What the hell am I supposed to do? My past 3 games have been nothing but frustration and [edited], yet attempting to justify a 86 penetration gun in a tier 6/7 lobby? Am I just expected to sling gold and consumables like it's not a problem? This is such a joke. I'm so pissed right now

Where is my 122 D-5-2T that I had on XB360 WOT? That at least made it so I can go toe-to-toe and keep up in higher tiered matches.

Ohhhh....

That might be the problem. Try switching to another tank. Do you have another tank...? Maybe a nice Soviet Medium..?

I recommend the T-34-85. Seriously.

I wish I had that overpriced and overpowered tank right about now, could just free-XP my way back up to where I was.

Just point the front at anything and easily shoot whatever you want.

But no, I just have the KV-1 and 1s

50% crew makes every tank suck. That is your biggest problem

I saw this in the recent topics and started laughing. At least that wasn't the full story eh.

And for the 1s use the 122mm, shoot mostly HE.

Yep, I agree.

--------------------

*OP....if you are currently using a 50% crew, I suggest retraining them to at least 75%. Don't make the same mistake I did years ago. I did a stupid experiment to see how long it would take to get a tank crew to 100% by starting them at 50%. And you know what..? It takes a freaking long time! Don't do it!!!! It's not worth it.

Try to do the best with what you have. It's called the "grind' for a reason. Yes, it sucks...I've been there...and still am for the most part. But I do suggest getting out of that KV-85, or whatever it's called now. Save your credits, grind away...and get yourself a decent Soviet medium, and you'll never look back.

Yeah I can play soviet mediums but it doesn't mean I like playing them, the T-28 grind wasn't necessarily a fun style of sniping, or close range flanking.

Good luck! So -SO- glad I'm past that part of the grind. Where I'm at it's all the tier eights if I want to get the tier ten heavies.

Did you try the T-34..? It's one of my personal favourites.

If you haven't yet, you should give it a try. I think it's a fun tank to play.

I mean i kinda understand his pain, I'm still suffering through the T29 grind (I got it from the M4A3E2 so I was stuck with the 76mm gun because I skipped the M6). because I had it fully stock, it took ages to get into position, id usually take a hit or two before i could even get to the actual meta HT spots, and when I would get there id always have to load full APCR because if I was bottom tier the AP cant pen almost anything id face.

that grind needs some serious tweaking.

If you had asked everyone would have told you not to research the T29 from the E2. :-/

Sometimes as a bottom tier heavy I support the medium tanks.  Enemy meds are likely to be easier to penetrate.

Train any new crew to 75%. If you don't have the credits grind them on another tank. It's just not worth playing with 50%.

P.S. is it only the KV-1S that is stock?  You must have most of the KV-1 unlocked if you researched the 1S from it.  I would play your KV-1 some more, earn credits, train the 1S crew.  Save your free XP, unlock stuff on the 1S, if you can get enough.   Best of luck!!

First spend some credits to train up your crew. Then if your team has some upper tier heavies, use your KV-1S to support your mediums. The KV-1S armor can't trade with higher tier heavies, but it has the speed to follow mediums, and with the 122 derp gun can really blast enemy mediums.

I unlocked the kv1s yesterday and it’s effectively horrible to grind, the starting gun just can’t pen anything. Be patient until the 122mm, i guess it will be better...

The 122 is the meta for that tank. Derp away with HE and remember it's a heavium not a true heavy.

You do the same thing in a bottom tier heavy as you did in a bottom tier heavy in 2011. Nothing has changed. You support the top tier tanks as best you can.

C'mon, the KV1S/KV85 has always been played more like a medium. No armor.
