So, I've watched some streamers, to relearn the game again, but they dont really explain themselves. And Zeven isnt that active :( Anyone want to explain map tactics to me?

Thanks :)

Big topic, given how many maps there are, and how many tanks (or tank types/roles) there are.

First, and obvious answer, talk to those in your clan.  "Hey guys, can anybody spare maybe an hour, so we can go to the training room where I can learn some of the key points/tactics on a given map for some tanks/tank types?? "

Second, if that doesnt work (or in conjunction with that) , watch some YouTube videos.  Might take a bit to get just the right map, with the right tank type, but it can be done. WoT does occasionally put out video on certain maps, too.

Third, find help via other methods.  New clan, friends, self-taught, etc etc.

Watching people do things dosnt work for me. I need it explained.

To help reduce this to a more managable size, T8 meds, TD's, and Heavies, and T10 Heavies, and Meds. That is what I mostly play. The other stuff is to low tier to really matter.

OP, 96 other players in your clan, ask your officers !

It will be easier than back and forth in the forum.

I try to get more input that what a clan can give. And, due to the recent campaign, alot of members are taking a small break...

Most guides will be outdated but some concepts are still around as long as the maps haven't changed massively, example erlenberg

Also might be tough finding a guide but i'd imagine you can find some good players to help you out

Yeah, I hope I can find some players.... most guides Ive seen are all too old to use. Wotguru's are updated, but Ive never been able to use his map info. Its not in a format I can learn from :(

I thought Guido has a section on tactics.  I'm not sure how current they are, but they should still be relevant on the reworked maps.

Some general guide lines to the map are:

1. Take advantage of the terrain according to your tanks.

For example, if a map is more corridor and you have more heavies, put that armor up front and let the rest of your team flank from ONE side. Keep your guns together.

2. Keep your guns together. Spreading everyone out only helps to allow the opposition to isolate and destroy.

3. Treat each map and deployment separately. If you have a speed and spotting advantage then find ways on the map to protect the cap while advancing as a group. Take a single line approach to isolating the map, not the enemy team. In other words, start forcing the map smaller. If you know you can run up the edge of the map, then you have to play the entire map. If they take the middle while you're on the edge your enemy has isolated you down and can force you to play to your own location. This can be used to your advantage on maps like Abbey, but it requires you to "hole up" a bit and try and force the enemy to you.

4. Take into account the strengths of your team mates. If you know a player is a good brawler but can't shoot distance or snipe then don't set them up to fail on a far away ridge line. Same for their tanks. If a players tank is a TD with no spotting because its a support sniper, don't expect it to out spot on a flank. Put it in the back and let it fire away.

5. Learn support formations. Wolf Pack attacks don't get used much in pub games that I've seen the last week or two. I see a lot of controlled aggression as opposed to rush in and destroy. The best attacks of this kind seem to follow a 20 second window of plan and react. Lots of T-34-85 at tier 6 which use the smaller turret to peak and draw enemies out. Then the rest of the team near by quickly redeploys to swarm. Controlled aggression.
