Was thinking of my Father , being fathers day is near, he served as a Sgt 1st Marines 7th reg. during the Korean War, 2 tours , total of 15 months at or near the front.

So this is for him and all that have served.

Plus one OP.  Here's another song.  This one from Jerry Cantrell for his father a veteran that served in Vietnam.

Thanks Heavy, i have that Alice in Chains song around here somewhere on a CD.  "The war was in color", just kinda hits home with me, as a kid, i would watch old war movies with my father and that was when he would talk about his experiences in Korea. He would say things like " yeah that movie kinda  like it was , but the snow wasn't white" this was when we watched the movie"Retreat Hell" which was about the Marines in Korea in 1950, he was there during that time. He was also there in 1953 when the armistice was signed. served till 54.

Been a hard night for me , lots of memories of him , he passed away in 2005.  For some reason , just had him on my mind tonight.

Our memories of our brave father's sacrifice are all we have. Let not those memories end with us, tell our children of their grandfather's heroism and valor......IMHO.
