So, this mechanic was introduced on Feb 6, 2017 (More than a year ago). Has is made any difference? I would say, yes, and no. Let me elaborate:

(Sorry for the font issue, seems to be a bug in the forums)

What I like:

 

  • Arty can no longer one shot tanks (Most of the time)
  • Arty is now more accurate, and has a shorter reload.

 

What I dont like:

 

  • Stun duration
  • No crew perk to mitigate this affect
  • Stun to all tanks, regardless of armor
  • Stuns all crew, even if that crew member is on the other side of the tank
  • High module damage.
  • Constant refresh of the stun (multiple arty shots)
  • Three arty per team

 

So, I think this mechanic is in the right direction, but needs some tweaking. Adding a crew perk, or even making BIA a perk to mitigate this affect would be great. The amount of module damage is unreasonable. Modules should only be damaged, if:

 

  1. That module is on that side
  2. Has had its health pool depleted

 

The stun should only be applied if:

 

  1. There is no stun already applied
  2. 5 seconds has past since the last one ran out

 

There should be no more than 2 arty per side. How to implement this? Arty would only be in tiers 6-8-10. No T5 and lower arty, and no T7,T9 arty. That would reduce the types in the queue.

Some tanks should have almost an immunity to the stun. As they are more heavily armored, and the crew better protected. And not all arty should have the stun affect (Bert, and the leaf blower), as they fire way too quickly.

 

Anyways, this is my two cents, what do you guys think?

The biggest issue i have with arty, is the amount they let into matches.  One is adequate.  Two is pushing it at higher tiers.  The majority of the mid tier matches I always seem to get three.

It's more annoying but also more survivable.  I was not a fan of being instantly murdered by the "skill" RNG lever.  Now I'm not a fan of being stunned for days and slowly murdered.

 

TL;DR: arty can suck it and is broken.

I feel as if the biggest issue with artillery stun is the massive penalty it deals against your crew. For example, playing my IS-7 with a 7 skill crew, and those crew members being reduced to 50% skill level after 1 arty shot. The stun radius is also quite annoying to deal with. Being on the opposite side of a house or rock and being stunned is not fun, nor is being affected when arty shoots someone else on your team. I strongly agree with your statement about module/crew criticals too. I have noticed that since the most recent arty rework, I am losing crew members and modules way too easily. Another example from IS-7 would be a Lorraine arty missing me and STILL injuring 2 crew members. I am a firm believer that arty should have a long reload and low damage (like 300 max). 

 

I fully believe that arty should not exceed more than 1 per team, and they also should not have access to see player names and/or clan tags. The sheer amount of focus because of being an OTTER or by xvm is ridiculous and makes me want to create a different account and purposely have bad stats on it.

Actually there is a way to reduce stun time, install a spall liner. Of course unless you are in a super heavy it's not really worth an equipment slot.

Not to say it's ever fun to be shot but there is no redeeming function and is a trolling mechanism at best and grieving at worst and why would any company want to grieve their own game.

 

The problem is obvious when you talk about limiting any class of vehicles access to the game. There should be no hard cap and no reason why there shouldn't be as many SPG's on a team as we can get. Think about it, by restricting the numbers you actually create more games with SPG's and by removing the cap and letting SPG's face the same matchmaking as the rest of us would create more arty free games.

the stun is here to simulate as best as they can, the concussive shock of a dumpster full of HE exploding beside a large tin can.

 

at the very best, and far enough away, it would really hurt the ears of those inside the can, and rattle them for a while. Any closer, whatever organic material in that tin can, would be smeared all over the walls , with a few splintered bones sticking out.

 

the stun causes ZERO damage, can be done away with instantly with med kits, and affects lessened with equipment.

No, no, no!! Artillery is POOP now. The laughable increase to reload and accuracy does not make up for the lack of penetration, damage or decrease cost of there shells! The stun is F*&KING joke! Artillery need to be brought up to heavy tank damage/penetration for the big HE guns and have the accuracy/reload of heavy tanks! Artillery and light tanks are F*&KING JOKE since 9.18!

Maybe you should grow a pair? Cancer is very treatable. Its just the gov't that refuses to allow it. Also, please keep this on topic.

so, off topic postings, seem to be your forte. Just asking for the juveniles to perhaps use in their child like whines to maybe think about the words they use, if not, guess it just proves a point, statements like above, clearly show the enforcement of the age limit for this game needs policing.

 

The stun, is in place to alleviate the vocal minorities snivels about a part of the game, and then create something  balance and keep one of their 5 essential vehicles valuable to teammates. as long range indirect fire support.

Stun, like the entire class, is indeed cancer. Remove arty from the game and it imediately becomes 100x more playable.

current limit of 3 is fine.

Stun is supposed to make more players load and use the large first aid kits. Does not matter that it is the most annoying thing in the game after the broken MM

Someone stunning you and you not moving isnt the fault of artillery lol. You wouldnt be slowly murdered if you got out of the way. And if you're tracked, any tank can do that. Should we remove all tanks that can track because they let you be slowly murdered?
