Yea, we had 4 at the start which resulted in 2 tech draws and then the last guy showed up which resulted in a tech victory.

I mean, why would you even bring back tournaments if this much technical issues have been happening?

I don't understand what your issue is from the pictures posted.  Can you elaborate?

Sorry to hear about the trouble.

The minimum number of players to start the battle is 5. If you had less than 5 players ready when the battle started, you received a technical defeat.

The maximum number of battles was 3. If one team received two technical defeats, and another received one technical defeat, the tournament system advanced the team that received less technical defeats.

For the record, bringing back tournaments involves using a tournament system that Jambi and I have never used before. Technical issues are bound to happen as we learn the system. This was not a technical issue, however, but a quirk of the tournament system and the rules around minimum/maximum number of players required. What you're saying is that you would prefer we have no tournaments at all? I'm sure there are quite a few players that would disagree with you.

That said, for timing, it seems like 3 minutes in between battles is a bit short. Perhaps we should increase the time to 5 minutes, to avoid quite as many technical  defeats?

Interesting. I'll do some digging in the tournament system and see what I can figure out.

So essentially, from what I can gather the long and short of it is this: 2 wins were required to advance to the next round. Since neither team received 2 wins, technically neither team should have advanced. However, the tournament system seems to have arbitrarily selected a match "owner" which in this case happened to be the other team.

Effectively, _Perfect's team should have gotten a bye for the next match, which they essentially did because TXV didn't show for that match either.

Again, it's been a learning experience for us and we're looking into trying some different formats to mitigate these types of issues.
