I wanted to free up some space on my SSD C Drive so I copied WoWS and moved it to my D Drive.  I then deleted it from my C Drive but when I tried to open the game with the Game Client I got an error message saying the game wasn't available on my C Drive and could not be opened.  So I copied it back from D to C and it opens just fine again.

How do I tell the Game Client to access the game on another drive?  Or do I have to completely uninstall from the SSD then reinstall on the different drive?

First, stop using the game centre. Its still in beta. Second, this is the WOT forums. There is a WOWs forums. Normally, you just need to move the folder, and launch the game from the games launcher. Try that (Instead of in the game centre).

WoT is fully portable.

WoWS is probably as well.

So just move the game files and then just open WorldOfWarships.exe

Did you also criticize the WoT Forum threads encouraging people to log onto WoWS so they could win some free stuff?  I posted it on the WGC Forum section and not on General Discussion(s) in order to avoid comments like yours.

look in the settings for wgc or in settings on the game screen in wgc,  have it look for the game again or you can manually tell it where the game is,

Look in the WOWS folder you moved to your new drive you will see in there amongst lots of other files a "WOWS Lancher EXE" right click it and add a shortcut to desktop that will probably be the easiest thing for you to do

Ultimately that's what I did.  I copied WoWS and WoWP from the SSD and put them on the other drive where I had installed Total War Arena, the Common Test Server, and some other games.  Then I deleted them from the SSD and created new .exe short cuts on my desktop to open those games from the new drive.  They all seem to be loading and logging on just fine and it freed up about 70 GB on my SSD.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions, guys.    :honoring:

I didn't get that message so apparently the game could be found on my computer but could not be opened with the original link stored on Game Center to the old drive?

You have to click "Import Installed Games" to get that popup.

Ok...I found it.  Initially "Import" was not available probably because the WGC thought my games were still on the C Drive.  The day after I deleted them from the C Drive they were no longer on the WGC and the "Import" function was available so I imported the links to the D Drive.  Works fine now.
