What maps do you hate and why?
What maps make you hate the map developing/balance team?

I personally hate mines for any tier above 6 and I hate all the corridor maps that only favor heavies/brawling tanks.
The one map that make me hate the map developing/balance team is Erlenberg! They took a map that had a place for every tank class to play and made it another D&*M corridor map!

Suggestions would be to put Erlenberg back to how it was. For ever single corridor/brawler map, put out a wide open map that screws over brawling tanks as much as the corridor maps screw over all other tank classes.

i dont hate the maps, i hate how they are used.

 

none of the 600m maps should be used above tier 5. none of the 800m maps should be used above tier 7.

I play lots of Heavies so I "hate" wide open maps where I'm too slow to get where I need to go and there isn't enough cover to hide from (3) arty once I'm spotted.

Big maps punish the super heavies and other slow tanks. Forcing tanks to brawl once in a while isn't a terrible thing.

incorrect. big maps all have places for those tanks to be played, it may just not be what you are used to. 

 

meanwhile, the small maps just suck because people can see each other from the start of the match and there is too little room for many tanks to work well, especially arty.

I would never want any map removed because there's already a dearth of variety in the game, but 3 of the recently reworked ones are perhaps my least favorite because they became so campy.  Fjord's, Fisherman's Bay, and especially Erlenberg. 

 

I don't love either of the Grand Battle maps, though Klondike is at least a huge improvement on Nedelberg.

 

Overlord is also toward the bottom of my list.

That's it in a nutshell, but it's painfully obvious Wargaming never considered that at all.

 

It's almost as if they had no idea what size a map should be no matter what. They made them in various sizes and simply hurled them into rotation piecemeal.

I don't hate any map. 

But Ensk, Himmelsdorf and Mines could be a bit larger.

Province should be limited up to tier VI.

There are not enough maps on this game as it is, since wargaming had the bright idea removing maps for rework or upgrade without replacing them.

Besides the point of all the maps that have been classified by wargaming as unsuitable and were removed as well with out putting up a replacement map.

Here is the list of the 21 removed maps;  Pearl River, Port, Live Oaks, Komarin, Sacred Valley, Klondike, South Coast, Highway, Pilsen, Mittengard, Kharkov, Stalingrad, Widepark, Windstorm, Winterberg, Winter Himmelsdorf, Swamp, Hidden Valley, Severogorsk, Northwest and Dragon Ridge

I dont mind Mines, but I hate Ensk in pretty much any tank class.  I hate himmlesdorf in arty.  There are a few firing lanes to use, but in general you're pretty restricted.

OP's question was what maps you hate (as in Paris) not there aren't enough.  Although the latter is true, even if he didn't pose or mention it.

PROVINCE.  OMG what a POS map.  Of all the maps to bring back....  It was fine the way it was when it was limited to tier III.  Camp fest sure but it allowed newer players to acclimate to each class in a slower setting.  In a sense, it was the exact opposite of Mittengard, which was also fine.  Mines should be tier VI/VIII max.  Overlord can be fun but needs to be reworked.  Westfield is a 1000x1000 and yet still feels super tiny, at least at higher tiers.  Maybe put that at tier VII max too.

Bring back the rest and take that crummy new Erlenberg out.  I didn't think it was possible to make that map more of a camp fest but somehow they've managed it.

I like all the maps... I find the good that works for me in every map and play it to my advantage.

 

MOAR maps, not less... that's what I say.

I often hear that about Mines, "Should be Tier N and lower only".  I don't get it.

 

To me, Mines is a map where the central hill is so valuable that both teams need to rush it at the start.  This ensures that some players are going to die in the first minute of the game, and often decides the game right then.  And the winner of this race is often decided by the matchmaker putting the fastest tanks on one team or the other.   That's bad at any tier.  I realize it's worse at higher tiers where the long view range makes the hill even more valuable, but I wouldn't even wish this kind of game play on Tier 1 tanks.

I don't hate the maps we have.... we need something.

 

I hate the maps we DON"T have because .. well.. we don't have them and we need them.

Two problems with your above statement... I haven't played a T67 in several years and I only WISH that WG would pay me to shill for them, but sadly that ain't happenin'.
