My premium ran out so I can't afford to play my higher tiered tanks.  I started to play the clown car (Luchs) and bought back my Marder II (3rd time in it now).

There is a certain charm in lower tiered battles that I missed from playing high tiered battles over the last few months.  Fights are much faster.  I didn't care if I miss a shot and hear credits fly out the window.  I don't need to pack repair kits because that's more expensive than repairing the whole tank.  And the Marder...

Holy cow that thing is a beast.  It's more fun than I remembered.  I averaged 2 to 3 kills per battle, win or lose.  The view range is phenomenal.  It's a better scout than scouts!

I park myself behind a rock or an berm and wait for people to come by.  Sometimes they come over one at a time, consistently, like a conveyor of credits.  

The only beef I have with it is the gun is much less accurate than I remembered.  Maybe I'm just used to the 75mm L70 and the 75mm L100 "Joker gun."

How about you guys?  Any good Marder stories?

ya 1 round i had 5 kills with it and i had 1hp left and i somehow manged to hold off there last 4 tanks coming to our base and i can see 20mm shots from a distance bouncing off me and i kept them distracted while backing up the entire time and our team captured the enemy base as i got destroyed, i think the marder 2 has the highest winning percent of all the tanks i used.

I was sad when I sold mine and bought a hetzer, and found that it was nowhere near as awesome.  Then I sold my hetzer for a stug, and found the same thing.... so I sold my stug for a marder

I went the same route...

Stug was good, but not as survivable in higher tiered fights.

I remember when I using Marder II when Closed Beta its a sweets memory. Fighting Tier 4 battle that mean got KV tanks at enemy side and my team and the map is Ensk. Using Marder II ELITE but its not highly rate for fighting inside town for low tier. I killed 7 tanks, survive and win including kill enemies KV. I feel great only GOD know what I feel.

I missed the raw sniping awesome of the marder, and the uber-protection of the hetzer, and I was also playing through the us med line.  the high rof and speed didn't apply, and i saw no other benefits over the marder.

But pls, if u know of a reason to stick to the german tds, tell me.

Did you check German full tank tree??? 1st dont sell your StugIII to fast. Q:Why??? A: For next patch (dont know when) dev probably release Stug E-100/ Jagdpanzer E-100 (Huh, when they changed name to Jagdpanzer E-100??? LOL nvm)  and StugIII is the fastest td tank to grind experience then MarderII. Let me give some note StugIII-->Dickermax-->next grind to Stug E-100. MarderII --> MarderIII --> Dickermax --> next grind to Stug E-100.Q: Did Stug E-100 better than JagdTiger? A: I dont know but I heard some rumors said Stug E-100 probably mounted BIG gun for German line td so Stug E-100 better than JT probably YES. Note: Probably Stug E-100 tree line will mounted "big gun" to.

Probably they will got camo advantage. Did you heard some history about Nashorn knockout US tank Pershing and its ratio kill is 10 sherman : 1 Nashorn.  Nashorn keep ambush an enemy so probably they will got camo advantage.

I love the marder... I've gone soviet up to and including the ISU so far... and am now on the t-25 in the US line. Im using the marder to grind exp to convert over to get upgrades in the ISU and to get to the t-28. as far as stories I just had a Campinovka where I finished with 20 hp and 9 kills. If i'd not had my tracks and engine jacked up so badly by arty I'd have gone to the oppositions base and got their afk tanker. Hopping over to the German line from the Sov line has been a blast so far. Im not digging the Jagdpanz so much though. even with the top-line gun its a shade of a let down after the marder,hetz and stug.

It's not just the "all gun, no armor" thing for Marder.  It's the fact that the Marder never see anything higher than tier 5 combat.  Fights are faster at lower tiers.  There's more movement on the field.  People seem to generally have more fun than the heavies pounding each other with massive guns in peek-a-boo fashion.

I have 2 of my 3 Halonen's Medals in my Marder II.  For those who don't know what that is: Destroy 3 or more vehicles with a Tank Destroyer.  The destroyed vehicles must be at least 2 tiers higher than your vehicle.  Marder II is AWESOME, and I can't wait for the other TD line to come out.  I bought extra garage slots, just so I can have room for them.  Then I'll have ALL of the German TD's in my garage!  My name is Bob, and I'm a German TD junkie.(quote from a recent GTDDA* meeting)

The Marder is a blast!

Put camo and binocs, and park it.  Accuracy isn't so bad.  Stay hidden and do massive damage!

Just started playing a month ago. My marder crew is nearing 100% and in the last week have had battles of 7 and 8 kills that won the match for the team. I wont ever get rid of it. When i grinding other tanks and get frustrated I bring out the marder II. Cant wait to see how the new german TDs perform!

Just played a game where there were five Marders on our team. We chewed them up. Lot's of long range sniper action.
