The Amazing Marder II

The Marder is one of my alltimes favorites,
I bought a garage slot just so that I could have it again
The gun is a beauty! Accurate, fast reload, awesome traverse, good pen and packs a punch for its tier
There is nothing to not like about it!
My best so far is 7 kills, and I am not a very good player.

I love my Marder II-will never sell it- its my winningest vehicle - tonight in Ruinberg I got Kolobanovs medal, knocking out the last 6-7 by myself and finishing with 3% HP left - no matter how hard the grind is sometimes, jumping back into the Marder II brings back all the fun!

i never liked any other machine then the marder II. i love it! the sight is AWESOME, mobility is GOOD. (when upgraded) the 76MM is amazing but its inaccurate and that combines with its slow reloading speed. i maxed it out and it became an elite
i am definately keeping it as i got my best kill record in it. i like it so much i even sent my commander and reloader to the regimental schools to improve performance. my driver is over 80% skill and i have'nt even sent him to the school!
i use the accalearate training option to increase my crew's skills.
i also bought 2 secondary equipments (a small fiest aid kit and a repair)
best vehicle in my garage (lol. and what do i have in my garage other then a PZKMPFWGN 38T and a bison and a puny hetzer)

it's easily my favorite td. I've gotten to the ISU, t28 and now the Jagpanth and I still hop into the Marder on a nightly basis... the best performance so far was 9 kills in a battle and still had 97% health left (damn arty lol thankfully I had the spall liner on
)

I'm just starting to use my Marder, and I don't have it fully upgraded yet.
What ammo should I be using when? I've stuck so far to armor-piercing, but I'm wondering if in my tier I should experiment with HE.
No gold ammo here.

marders usually pack AP rounds, 75mm HE doesn't add much extra effectiveness, its far more likely to deal less damage then AP because it often fails to penetrate the armor for full damage.
in my oppinion, gold ammo is for clan matches and competitive play and only for a few select guns.

Marders are really good, by far the best win rate for their tier with fantastic camo and an excellent gun.

I often platoon in my Marder with a friend of mine's Hetzer. He goes close-combat, while I stay behind and provide sniper support - and let me tell you, I do as good as he does.

Having played 180 battles in the Marder with a 60% win rate I obviously think highly of this little TD. For German TDs the gun is fantastic. The 76.2mm will rock everything you will see including KVs. Sometimes you may get a bounce but overall this thing penetrates tank armor like butter. The only obvious problem is your low HP but you have decent speed, a great traverse and view range, awesome camo especially with net, and a pretty good ROF.
The most tanks I have killed in the Marder is 7 but I routinely get three plus. Hit ratio is 56%. Sometimes I wish the gun was a little more accurate bc its tempting to take those long shots with your great view range. The only downside is with some of the enemies with big HP pools you can run out of ammo since it takes 5 or so shots to kill a KV.

I've been playing my Marder II a lot, didn't realize how much fun it was til recently when I bought equipment for it. I've had most of my kills in the Marder and my best matches mostly with it. I have more than 1 kill per battle avg which is surprising.
Most memorable battle was recently w 7 kills - I was the lowest tank on the list and killed 1 KV, 2 M4's and other smaller tanks. I think I took all 100 HPs from the KV also.
The marder is just plain great fun due to its great gun and fast traverse. I didn't like the Hetzer much at all I think mostly due to higher tier battles. Stug also, although has a more accurate gun and mobile gets thrown into too high of tiers too and hasn't been too much fun. I thought the Stug would get hit less with a smaller profile but enemy tanks have no problem blasting it and one-shoting it sometimes.

I never had more than 4 or 5 kills in my Marder. A few nights ago, everything came together. A bunch of small tanks, good hiding spot, mass confusion, I knocked out 9 tanks in that game.

After look and make some discussion about Marder II theory. Finally the answer for this theory is Marder II > Hetzer / Hetzer < Marder III (incoming).

First up I think W.O.T is cool.
Now, as a noob I like most closet tankers starting out, suffered from P.U.T.T.S.. and as such ran up the Tech tree like a chimp and then fell back to earth like a chump.
At one point my garage was full, even bought an extra space, and that was on top of the premium Acc.
Pz 1v, jagd pz 1v,leopard, yadda yadda.....now though,Ijust run a hetzer,stug111,pz38na and the pride of the pack the Marder 11.
What can I say about her that has not already been said... Together we have fought in 215 battles for 174 kills,120 victories,
she is fitted out now with the coated optics, enhanced gun laying drive plus the telescope bioc's,and she brings me much joy,we sit in the lower middle of the battle order and reach out and touch teir4 & teir5 she is without doubt the workhorse of the battlefield she can spot duke it out with her own wieght and she is quite deadly. No I would never part with my Marder11.

As usual our team was almost fully destroyed within 2 or 3 minutes. There were only 2 tanks survived - my Marder and T-28. Against 8 enemies. And I've already had 2 frags. T-28 was hiding in the bushes at our base and had no will to fight. And he didn't fight till the end of this battle.
So as a result I had 10 frags.

Wish I had screenshots or a video, but I was in a tier 7 match, managed to kill a stug III at 100hp *NP right*, Pz3 full hp, PZ4 full hp, and a Hummel at about 400m away. I ended up tracking the PZ4 3 times and poking up from this hill in Siegfried near a bunker and as I tracked him it damaged him as well and every shot he either hit the bunker or the dead tank that was to the left of me. GG indeed that day

Awesome vehicle - when I think of rage quitting because my VK4502A is a POS; I play the Marder II for a few games. As you can see, I do quite well at Sand River

I had my 2nd top gun in my Marder this weekend. My team other than me was eliminated with 3 enemies left. I killed one, but was hit and had only 2 hp left. I found a nice bush behind a rock to set up my ambush. The M2 MT came in and never saw me. I killed him. The Luchs came in last and never saw me. I killed him to win.
The one continuing complaint I have with the Marder is the inaccuracy of the gun. I missed a lot of shots that I shouldn't have and prolonged the game.
