When I have 450m view range.

And I'm 100m away from a god damn S1 on Sand River, with direct line of sight, and no bushes anywhere between us or around us. YET ITS UNSPOTTED?

Last I checked the S1 doesn't get a damn 75%+ camo even with a camo net. There is absolutely NO REASON he shouldn't have been spotted.

This kind of [edited]didn't happen before these idiotic 1.0 maps. Absolute trash.

Have you guys at WG considered why the player base is currently lower than it was before 1.0? Why you only got 2 weeks or so of a boost before it dropped to pre 1.0 levels?

Out of curiosity, how do you determine the distance of an unspotted tank??

You would have to be within 160 meters to spot him. But I would say there was a small bush he was behind or he moved to a new spot before you spotted him.

I think spotting is not working correctly as well.

The spotting mechanics on this game are utter broke.

This phenomenon occured to me numerous times now that an enemy vehicle pops up right in front of me.

Yesterday on Prokhorovka being in a TD on 1 line my vehicle has a five and six skill crew and a heavy appeared right in front of me coming down the one line.

I would call that broken spotting mechanics.

Was in my Stug B the other day on Lakeview.  End of the match, I drove north to the end of the center lake road.  Right at the very last crest where the lake ends, I was less than 2 meters away from an Alecto and Stug.  Neither lit after firing.  They only lit after each fired 2 or 3 rounds.  Did they move to break camo?  No.  They should of broke camo when they fired.  Whacky.   Also seen a Cromwell flashing on and off on another map, from less than 5 meters away.  Spotting mechanics can do some odd things at times.

What good would a replay do?

You can't fix the issue and most certainly I don't make the story up just to come here on the forum.

I have trouble believing that you got within 2 meters of a tank without spotting them when the proxy spot distance is 50 meters.

I have experienced the invisible tank issue and I have actual proof.  This is a problem and it does effect some people.

With that being said, upon updating my graphics card drivers this problem was resolved.  The issue of tanks not rendering is caused by severe packet loss, meaning that in the game replay you will see tanks that weren't actually visible during the battle.

Just because you're not making the story up doesn't mean that you're right. Lots of soft cover along the lane on Prokhorovka, it doesn't matter how many skills your crew has, they can't see through cover...

But you admit that your experience has ZERO to do with the spotting mechanics so I'm not sure what your point is.

I agree!

The camo and spotting system of this game is trash!

But some of the t urds in the forums with tell you that it is fine and you dont understand it!

When it determines the outcome of a game because of bad mechanics,

ITS TRASH!

The Camo system is abused by War Gaming as a balancing tool and not distributed fairly according to the tanks size

STRV is garbage when it has better camo when its on the move compared to ALL of its same tier counterpart when they are stationary!

COMPLETE GARBAGE!!!

Yea there is a lot of wonk in the spotting mechanics, like someone said above I think packet loss is responsible for some of it. I have been pinging in the 30's and still have packet loss at times. Still this falls squarely in the lap of WG and the junk servers and tech they run.

Because it got lit by another teammate(further away than me), after it shot at me.

Also. The wall of the map is there. I was within 100m of the edge of the map, and that's where the shot came from.

Also. The map is 1000mx1000m. That means every square is 100mx100m.

Let's see a replay... I take issue with your estimate of being only 100 meters away and/or zero soft cover between the 2 of you. A replay will settle these questions. Perhaps you were moving at high speed toward the enemy and therefore your estimate of distance at the time of spotting seemed closer than actual.

When a player has a good computer allowing him to have all the important view/spotting settings at max and his connection is good, AND he has a true and complete understanding of... plus real abilities to use... the view/spotting mechanics of this game, these mechanics are quite excellent in simulating the vagaries of the battle field vis a vis arcade style video game parameters.

lul. Please don't ever say "WoT Spotting mechanics are realistic" ever again, no matter how much you dress up the language.

Why exactly did you link a reroll account?
