So I'm playing a game as arty and this TD on our team is really playing badly.  It was end game and we needed scouting for our three arty and I'm chatting with the guy to help scout.  Long story short, I just can't believe how dumb this guy is playing.

After the game I check his game stats and he's got 20k games and a 58% win rate.  Didn't make any sense.  So I message him.  Here's the log:

  • ME (9:10:21 PM) You got 20k games and you play like an idiot!?!?!?!?
  • HIM (9:10:39 PM) You must - MUST get carried by your clan games a lot....
  • HIM (9:11:11 PM) i got no hack this week thats why ,, aiming is alot harder without a hack
  • HIM (9:11:36 PM) i refuse to pay WOT money
  • HIM (9:12:02 PM) not to worry bub,,, 80% are hacks here

So with the new release, his cheats (if he's being honest and I have to believe he is because he played REALLY stupidly) aren't working anymore.

Can't WoT perform ANALYTICS on players games after a new release that would break auto-aim mods.  Players that were getting 80% hit rates suddenly go down by a drastic percentage and WoT could use player analytics to discover major changes in player performance?  Then, when they know a new auto-aim mod is on place, they would see players hit rates suddenly go back up.

Those would be clear signs someone is cheating.  A simple statistical analysis into the 4th or 5th sigma would easily catch those players that went from high hit rates, to low hit rates, to high hit rates again, all in time with the release of the new game patch and the next auto-aim mod.

Actually, I'm positive this could be done, there's no question.  And, if WoT sees that they are not paying customers, then just ban their accounts.  I realize you guys must be turning a blind eye to cheaters, especially if they are paying customers, but at least get rid of cheat plaers that just screw up the game for your paying customers.

Thanks,

Pretty much this.

I'm not the greatest player but I do better tha average so when I have a bad game and manage to throw (we all have our moments) and someone messages me in garage; I usually troll them with nonesense. Not because I'm like that (usually I'm not) but because people that message others after a bad battle are usually being [edited].

A lot of times the game decisions made by a good player are confusing to a lesser-skilled player.

He could also have been simply drinking a bit too much at that time.

Either way, you got trolled.

^ this.

People call me out for being super aggressive when I know the map timing. Or complain when I flex out of a losing flank to live and try to salvage the match for the team.

But also OP. I guess I cheat when I have a bad night so I win only 45% or 50% of my battles? But then when I roll good and don't get tilted I go 65% or 70%+ win rates? That is basically what you are saying.

And your analytics aren't as fool proof as you might think. Maybe the person was letting their kid play for a bit. Maybe the person's ISP was having issues. Maybe the person was using a different computer for a while, or was having some computer hardware issues for a while. Maybe the person was just sick/drunk/screwing off. There is no sure fire analytics that can be used to see if someone is cheating.

Thanks,

stat padding in tier 3 and 4, so that makes you an expert, and the perfect person to accost some poor fool in his garage and berate him.

Looks like he got the last laugh.

(any post that begins with " So I am playing a game as arty..." is sure to go downhill from there)

yea you probably got trolled by a good player but it would be interesting to see how many people actually use illegal mods

He could have realized it was a loss and wanted to use guys as spots and farm some more damage or maybe he was hoping they would just cap and he would be alive. Maybe he just doesn't like being told what to do by other people. I've thrown the game before when there is an acehole on my team being rude. Not saying you were rude we weren't there so we don't know. It's pretty hard to cheat though.

Everyone have bad games sometimes. He was just trolling you.

You say you looked at his stats. Guess what? He also looked at yours. On his eyes, you were the filthy cheater playing low tier broken nazi tanks with fake modules at stadpadding platoons.

No sympathy for you at all.

If he was playing as badly as you say then no aim-bot will make him a 58% player. Most likely he figured the game was lost and was trying to farm some extra dankness points. Then tried to trigger you by suggesting he was modding.

Here’s a simple but effective way to consider this.

If a 58 percent player has a single bad game you witness its most probable that it’s just a bad game.

If a 48 percent player has a bad game you witness its most probable that it’s just fairly standard.

Both can do very well, or very poorly in single games, the overall stats indicate how often each of them do so.

If they wg did that 3/4 of the top clans would disappear.

1. Mods are updated fairly quickly....usually within 24 hours after the update is released.  Sometimes, even before it is released on the NA server.

2. Your ANALYTICS is not proof.  It is only evidence that someone MIGHT be cheating.  Why would WG ban any player based on suspicion?

3. Why would WG spend money, resources, and time developing programming to monitor, analysis, and react?  There is no gain for them to do so.

4. Though I am sure some players use cheats, I can not remember a single game where I though someone was cheating beyond doubt.  I suspect that there are more players that believe others are cheating than there are players that actually cheat.

I got called out for being an idiot in an ace tanker match because I didn't stick with the group and die in a pile with the rest. Remember tactical retreats are cowardly and never pay off.
